currently stationed around the capital Ottawa is close to raising $10m to support their cause of defeating Prime Minister Justin Trudeau\u2019s \u201cpolitical overreach,\u201d according to the protest GoFundMe page.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/gofundme\">GoFundMe<\/a>&nbsp;page set up by the organisers clearly shows Tuesday the money pouring in to the cause from across the nation.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Independent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/canada-truckers-freedom-convoy-gofundme-b2004806.html\">reports<\/a> this amount is higher than the money raised by major federal political players of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/canada\">Canada<\/a>&nbsp;during the closing months of 2021, public records with Elections Canada showed.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"article-im-prompt\">\n<p>According to the record, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/justin-trudeau\">Trudeau<\/a>\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/liberal-party-canada\">Liberal Party of Canada<\/a>&nbsp;raised&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elections.ca\/WPAPPS\/WPF\/EN\/PP\/DetailedReport?act=C76&amp;selectedReportType=3&amp;returnStatus=1&amp;reportOption=2&amp;queryId=c64fc4ccda964457a0f431216de9b168&amp;selectedPart=2A&amp;sortOrder=0&amp;selectedClientId=46531&amp;navFocusId=nextpartlink_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><u>$3.7m<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;during the last quarter of 2021, with the opposition Conservative Party of Canada ranking a close second with over $3m during the same period.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family have reportedly fled their home in Ottawa for \u201ca secret location,\u201d as thousands of truckers traveling in a \u201cfreedom convoy\u201d to protest vaccine mandates made their way to its capital city. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZMKF6EEw8z\">https:\/\/t.co\/ZMKF6EEw8z<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1487804085348839425?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 30, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The New Democratic Party raised $1.8m, which was followed by the Green Party of Canada which raised about $800,000.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>However, the \u201cFreedom Convoy 2022\u201d protest has already raised $9,553,300 CAD of its desired $10,000,000 goal, defeating the argument used by detractors that the convoy is somehow made up of outsiders, misfits and those living on the edge of civilised society.<\/p>\n<p>The fundraising page claims it wants freedom from the Trudeau administration coronavirus restrictions which he is \u201cimplementing rules and mandates that are destroying the foundation of our businesses, industries and
