The letters became public record on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of calling Giuffre\u2019s psychologist is to solicit her testimony on Giuffre\u2019s \u201calleged emotional and psychological harm and damages\u201d as well as the \u201ctheory of false memories,\u201d Andrew\u2019s defense team said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Andrew\u2019s defense wants to call Giuffre\u2019s husband in order to \u201ctest the veracity\u201d of her claims of sexual abuse as well as her accusations that Epstein and Maxwell threatened her with \u201cdeath or bodily harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During Maxwell\u2019s trial, Maxwell\u2019s defense argued that her accusers have \u201ccontaminated\u201d and possibly \u201cfalse\u201d memories of their abuse. Her attorneys called to the stand a \u201cfalse memory\u201d expert, Elizabeth&nbsp;Loftus, who has testified in the trials of Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, O.J. Simpson, and&nbsp;Ted Bundy.<\/p>\n<p>The royal, who has denied any wrongdoing, was stripped of his military titles last month.<\/p>\n<p>Prince Andrew was involved in Epstein\u2019s elite social circle. Another notable witness from whom the judge has requested testimony is Robert Ashton Olney, a former member of Andrew\u2019s staff. Olney was listed in Epstein\u2019s address book under Prince Andrew\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>A now-infamous picture shows Prince Andrew with his arm around the waist of a young Giuffre and Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein\u2019s former girlfriend, in the background. Giuffre has accused Maxwell of sending her to Andrew for him to sexually abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Maxwell was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ghislaine-maxwell-jeffrey-epsteins-former-girlfriend-found-guilty-in-sex-abuse-trial\">found<\/a> guilty in December on five of six counts, including the sex trafficking of a minor.<\/p>\n<p>Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 before the well-connected and wealthy financier could go on trial for his alleged decades of grooming and sexual abuse, including rape, of young girls in the 1990s and early 2000s.<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of the trial, the prosecution painted a picture of a pair of fully-grown adults, Maxwell and Epstein, who were \u201cpartners in crime\u201d and had a \u201cplaybook\u201d for targeting minors and sexually abusing them.<\/p>\n<p>The trial prompted speculation that incriminating information could potentially come to light about some of the high-profile names connected to Epstein, such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates, former presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, Bobby Kennedy Jr., and former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell.
