Ducklo for one week without pay after he threatened to &#8220;destroy&#8221;&nbsp;<em>Politico<\/em>&nbsp;reporter Tara Palmeri, according to a Friday&nbsp;<em>Vanity<\/em> <em>Fair<\/em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2021\/02\/i-will-destroy-you-biden-aide-threatened-a-politico-reporter-pursuing-a-story-on-his-relationship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a>. The punishment contradicts Biden\u2019s January &#8220;promise&#8221; to fire staffers who &#8220;disrespect&#8221; or &#8220;talk down&#8221; to others.<\/p>\n<div class=\"posts-content__category-widget md:hidden -ml-4 -mr-4 my-8 px-4 py-6 bg-gray-100\">\n<h4 class=\"mt-0 text-red-600 font-medium font-sans uppercase\">Recent Stories in Biden Administration<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m not joking when I say this: If you\u2019re ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect or talk down to someone, I promise you, I will fire you on the spot,&#8221; Biden said. &#8220;On the spot. No ifs, ands, or buts. Everybody is entitled to be treated with decency and dignity. That&#8217;s been missing in a big way the last four years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ducklo lashed out at Palmeri after the&nbsp;<em>Politico<\/em>&nbsp;journalist contacted him to inquire about his relationship with&nbsp;<em>Axios<\/em>&nbsp;political reporter Alexi McCammond. Ducklo threatened Palmeri in an attempt to kill the story, making derogatory comments that she was &#8220;jealous&#8221; that an unnamed man &#8220;wanted to fuck&#8221; McCammond and not Palmeri, according to&nbsp;<em>Vanity Fair<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will destroy you,&#8221; Ducklo reportedly told her.<\/p>\n<p>White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the suspension was &#8220;her decision&#8221; during a Friday briefing, claiming that she has not discussed the ordeal with the president. Psaki confirmed that she addressed Ducklo\u2019s comments with top&nbsp;<em>Politico<\/em>&nbsp;brass weeks ago but did not take disciplinary action until the incident became public.<\/p>\n<p>Ducklo &#8220;will no longer be assigned to work with any reporters at <em>Politico<\/em>&#8221; after his suspension ends, Psaki said.
