Spotify is a Sweden-based audio-streaming service that hosts the <em>Joe Rogan Experience<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Rogan identified his recent interviews with Drs. Robert Malone and Peter McCullough \u2014 with both discussions focusing on the COVID-19 and related policies and standards of care \u2014 as primary targets of the censorship campaign being waged against him.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-video\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/JOEROGAN\/videos\/1147721322431571\/\" data-width=\"640\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/JOEROGAN\/videos\/1147721322431571\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\">\n<p>My thoughts on the latest controversy with @spotify<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/JOEROGAN\">Joe Rogan<\/a> on Sunday, January 30, 2022<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Rogan explained:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I think there\u2019s a lot of people that have a distorted perception of what I do, maybe based on sound bites or based on headlines of articles that are disparaging. The podcast has been accused of spreading \u2018dangerous misinformation,\u2019&nbsp;<span>specifically about two episodes \u2014 a little bit about some other ones \u2014 but specifically about two. One with Dr.&nbsp;<\/span><span>Peter McCullough and one with Dr. Robert Malone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Peter McCullough is a cardiologist, and he is the most published physician in his field in history. Dr. Robert Malone owns nine patents on the creation of mRNA vaccine technology, and is at least partially responsible for the creation of the technology that led to mRNA vaccines.<\/p>\n<p><span>Both these people are very highly credentialed, very intelligent, very accomplished people, and they have an opinion that is different from the mainstream narrative. I wanted to hear what their opinion is. I had them on, and because of that \u2014 those episodes in particular \u2014 those episodes were labeled as being \u2018dangerous,\u2019 they had \u201cdangerous misinformation\u201d in them.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Rogan continued:<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>The problem I have with the term \u2018misinformation,\u2019 especially today, is that many of the things that we thought of as \u2018misinformation\u2019 just a short while ago are now accepted as fact. Like, for instance, eight months ago, if you said, \u2018If you get vaccinated, you can still catch COVID and you could still spread COVID,\u2019 you\u2019d be removed from social media.&nbsp;<\/span><span>They would ban you from certain platforms. Now, that\u2019s accepted as fact. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>If you said, \u2018I don\u2019t think cloth masks work,\u2019 you would be banned from social media. Now, that\u2019s openly and repeatedly stated on CNN. If you said, \u2018I think it\u2019s possible that COVID-19 came from a lab,\u2019 you\u2019d be banned from many social media platforms.&nbsp;<\/span><span>Now, that\u2019s on the cover of <em>Newsweek.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>All of those theories that at one point in time were banned, were openly discussed by those two men that I had on my podcast, that have been accused of [spreading] \u2018dangerous misinformation.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Spotify Co-Founder Daniel Ek <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2022-01-30\/spotifys-platform-rules-and-approach-to-covid-19\/\">responded<\/a> to the censorship campaign on Sunday via statement. He said Spotify would add a \u201ccontent advisory\u201d to all hosted content involving \u201cdiscussion about COVID-19\u201d that would direct users to a \u201cCOVID-19 Hub\u201d including \u201clinks to trusted sources:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We are working to&nbsp;<b>add a content advisory to any podcast episode that includes a discussion about COVID-19. This advisory will direct listeners to our dedicated&nbsp;<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/genre\/corona_news_podcasts-page\"><b>COVID-19 Hub<\/b><\/a>, a resource that provides easy access to data-driven facts, up-to-date information as shared by scientists, physicians, academics and public health authorities around the world, as well as links to trusted sources. This new effort to combat misinformation will roll out to countries around the world in the coming days. To our knowledge, this content advisory is the first of its kind by a major podcast platform.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rogan stated a promise to add more \u201cbalance\u201d to \u201ccontroversial viewpoints.\u201d He remarked:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>My pledge to you is that I will do my best to try to balance out these more controversial viewpoints with other people\u2019s perspectives so we can maybe find a better point of view.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t want to just show the the contrary opinion to what the narrative is. I want to show all kinds of opinions so that we can all figure out what\u2019s going on, and not just about COVID,&nbsp; about everything, about health, about fitness, wellness, the state of the world itself.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a strange responsibility to have this many viewers and listeners. It\u2019s very strange, and it\u2019s nothing that I prepared for, and it\u2019s nothing that I ever anticipated. I am going to do my best in the future to balance things out. I\u2019m going to do my best, but my point of doing this is always just to create interesting conversations and ones that I hope people enjoy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rogan said he is a fan of Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, two Canadian singer-songwriters who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/01\/26\/spotify-to-remove-neil-young-music-after-he-demanded-they-cancel-joe-rogan\/\">withdrew<\/a> their music from Spotify in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/01\/29\/joni-mitchell-joins-protest-over-joe-rogan-spotify-podcast-i-stand-in-solidarity-with-neil-young\/\">protest<\/a> of the streaming platform\u2019s hosting of Joe Rogan\u2019s podcast.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cndimages.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/31095239\/neil-young-performs-on-stage-for-his-first-time-in-quebec-city-during-picture-id993148918\" alt=\"Neil Young performs on stage for his first time in Quebec City during 2018 Festival d&#039;Ete on July 6, 2018.\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Neil Young performs on stage for his first time in Quebec City during 2018 Festival d\u2019Ete on July 6, 2018.
