Those in the bottom 20 per cent of earners, who averaged \u00a319,171 in income between 2019-20, will have to work for 24 years of their lives to pay their average of \u00a3449,860 in lifetime taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Those on the top of the economic ladder, with an average of \u00a3137,669 annual income, are forecasted to pay \u00a32,573,815 in direct and indirect taxes during their lifetime, representing 19 years of income.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Taxpayers Alliance said that even before the planned tax hike, average households in the country will pay nearly \u00a3180,000 towards National Insurance schemes during their lives.<\/p>\n<p>The chief executive of the group, John O\u2019Connell said: \u201cWith the tax burden at a 70 year high, typical families are now tax millionaires. Planned rises, like the national insurance hikes, must be scrapped.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Boris Doubles Down on Tax Rises, \u2018Absolutely Vital\u2019 to Take More to Pay for Covid Policies <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/weCJTAqKwq\">https:\/\/t.co\/weCJTAqKwq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1486785043955654656?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 27, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The report comes just one day after Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak affirmed that the government will press ahead with the planned \u00a312 billion tax rise for the National Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint article published on Sunday, both Johnson and Sunak attempted to cast themselves as&nbsp;\u201ctax-cutting Conservatives\u201d and even \u201cThatcherites\u201d despite ushering in the highest tax burden on the public in over seventy years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The pair argued that the increase in taxes was necessary to cover the exorbitant costs incurred as a result of the government\u2019s lockdown policies during the Chinese coronavirus crisis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cost has been enormous \u2014 well over \u00a3400 billion,\u201d they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/30\/not-so-conservative-boris-plows-ahead-with-massive-tax-hikes-despite-soaring-cost-of-living\/\">wrote<\/a>, continuing: \u201cWe have been able to afford it because the Conservative government is careful with the nation\u2019s finances. We must continue to be responsible now, as we deal with Covid aftershocks \u2014 and above all with the Covid backlogs in healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, many on the political right in Britain fear that raising taxes will hamper economic growth as the UK looks to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is the point of a Conservative Government if it slaps you in the face with tax increases,\u201d Sir John Redwood <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/politics\/2022\/01\/31\/middle-class-families-now-lifetime-tax-millionaires-research\/\">told<\/a> <em>The Telegraph<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not what we voted for, the manifesto was the other way.
