Some of Hunter\u2019s Chinese deals were helpful to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China\u2019s colonialist scheme for buying influence across the Third World and luring poor nations into taking loans from Chinese banks they can never repay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>BRI first appears early in <\/span><i><span>Red-Handed <\/span><\/i><span>with Hunter Biden\u2019s effort to use Chinese money to buy the national railroad of Greece. Hunter\u2019s partner in this endeavor was the China Open Shipping Corporation (COSCO), a firm owned by the Communist government and closely linked to the People\u2019s Liberation Army (PLA).<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Red-Handed-American-Elites-Helping-China\/dp\/0063061147\/?tag=breitbart035-20\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-19460594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/redhanded-hc-c-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"361\" height=\"545\" \/><\/a><span>China hoped to push BRI\u2019s influence into the heart of Europe and develop a network of ports, picturesquely described as a \u201cstring of pearls,\u201d that could be used by the PLA to challenge American naval power in the Atlantic. Through COSCO, the Chinese government offered Hunter an incredible sweetheart deal because it wanted to take advantage of his personal connections in Greece.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Fortunately for the free world, Hunter and his Chinese partners were outbid by the Italian national railroad company, but Belt and Road is still tirelessly hunting for ways to penetrate Europe more deeply. In 2021, the European Union belatedly began <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/europe\/20211203-with-its-global-gateway-eu-tries-to-compete-with-the-china-s-belt-and-road\"><span>pushing back<\/span><\/a><span> with its own infrastructure program, \u201cGlobal Gateway.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Hunter\u2019s most notorious link to BRI \u2013 notorious, that is, for everyone except the mainstream media reporters who adamantly refuse to investigate any of this stuff \u2013 was through CEFC China Energy, a conglomerate headed by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2018\/12\/13\/chinese-oil-tycoon-linked-to-biden-family-headed-for-legal-and-financial-crash\/\"><span>once-famous but now-vanished<\/span><\/a><span> young tycoon Ye Jianming.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>The documents discovered on Hunter\u2019s laptop \u2013 a story major media outlets and social media companies worked furiously to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/10\/06\/frances-haugen-part-of-facebook-team-that-censored-hunter-biden-laptop-story\/\"><span>suppress<\/span><\/a><span> during the 2020 election \u2014 included information <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/23\/exclusive-laptop-from-hell-documents-show-hunter-biden-using-family-leverage-in-prospective-deal-to-sell-louisiana-natural-gas-to-chinese-firm\/\"><span>linking<\/span><\/a><span> Biden\u2019s son to the CEFC conglomerate, including the email that said ten percent of one CEFC venture would be \u201cheld by H for the big guy,\u201d most likely a reference to Joe Biden himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>CEFC threw millions of dollars at Hunter, despite his lack of relevant skills or experience for the positions he nominally held in the company\u2019s endeavors. This created friction with professional money manager Tony Bobulinski, who would eventually become a whistleblower \u2014 only to be disappeared by Biden-friendly U.S. media outlets almost as thoroughly as the Chinese Communist Party made Ye Jianming disappear.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Red-Handed <\/span><\/i><span>quotes emails from Hunter that indicate he knew the company was linked to the Chinese state and PLA intelligence. For that matter, the book points out that CEFC made no great secret of its mission to serve \u201cChina\u2019s national energy strategy,\u201d and that mission included buying assets in Europe and the United States. Bobulinski bluntly told Hunter to stay away from CEFC, but his warnings were ignored.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>CEFC wasn\u2019t just an opportunistic business enterprise making big bucks from Chinese military contracts. <\/span><i><span>Red-Handed <\/span><\/i><span>notes one of the company\u2019s analysts wrote a belligerent editorial for Chinese state media in 2011 advocating the use of military force to drive Western oil and gas companies out of the South China Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Obama administration \u2014 in which Hunter\u2019s father was vice-president \u2014 was well aware of BRI\u2019s role in China\u2019s effort to supplant American influence around the world. As an added dollop of evil, BRI projects have more recently been <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfr.org\/blog\/who-built-labor-and-belt-and-road-initiative\"><span>accused<\/span><\/a><span> of using forced labor. It would be very difficult to make the case that Hunter had no idea who he was teaming up with.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>CEFC\u2019s plan to sink Belt and Road tentacles deep into the American energy industry with Hunter Biden\u2019s help went bust after the FBI arrested Ye Jianming\u2019s henchman Patrick Ho on bribery charges in late 2017.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In a final and comically obvious effort to purchase the Biden family\u2019s political influence, CEFC hired Hunter as one of Ho\u2019s defense lawyers, even though Hunter did not have criminal defense law on his resume. Hunter admiringly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-9522591\/Hunter-Bidens-close-relationship-Chinese-American-secretary-revealed.html\"><span>referred<\/span><\/a><span> to his client as \u201cthe f**cking spy chief of China\u201d in a recorded phone call discovered on his Laptop From Hell.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Red-Handed <\/span><\/i><span>takes pains to describe how plenty of Republican politicians have been drawn into the orbit of Belt and Road as well. BRI has trillions of dollars to spend and loan. It needs to buy political influence to lubricate its big-money deals.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>BRI is so huge that Americans and Europeans who should know better convince themselves to overlook BRI\u2019s long-term geopolitical goals so they can make deals with Chinese state firms \u2014 or take jobs lobbying for BRI\u2019s interests after they leave government offices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In Greece, BRI needed Hunter Biden to make introductions between Chinese state enterprises and influential Greeks. In America, BRI needed Hunter\u2019s connections to assuage concerns about selling American assets to Chinese state enterprises with military connections.
