Many said that community transmission rates are &#8220;not an important indicator&#8221; of whether a school should resume in-person learning.<\/p>\n<p>A growing body of <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/new-study-finds-covid-transmission-in-schools-is-extremely-rare\/\">scientific<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/ideas\/archive\/2020\/10\/schools-arent-superspreaders\/616669\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">data<\/a> suggests that schools can safely reopen if students wear masks and practice other transmission mitigation strategies. A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/70\/wr\/mm7004e3.htm?s_cid=mm7004e3_w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a> from the Centers for Disease Control found that coronavirus outbreaks in classrooms have been &#8220;rarely reported.&#8221; And CDC director Rochelle Walensky has said that opening schools safely does not require teachers to receive the coronavirus vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/psaki-says-white-house-lacks-data-on-reopening-schools-ignores-cdc-study\/\">claimed<\/a> on Thursday that a &#8220;lack of data&#8221; has prevented the Biden administration from rolling out its plan to reopen schools within the president&#8217;s first 100 days. Psaki on Tuesday <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/white-house-walks-back-promise-to-open-schools-in-100-days\/\">qualified<\/a> the administration&#8217;s definition of reopening schools, saying President Biden wanted &#8220;some&#8221; in-person learning &#8220;at least one day a week.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the nation&#8217;s 13,000 school districts, however, already offer in-person instruction for students at least one day per week.
