A 30-year-old lawyer, Kryst jumped from her \u201c60-story Orion building at 350 W. 42nd St. around 7:15 a.m. and was found dead in the street below,\u201d according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/30\/fatal-nyc-jumper-identified-as-miss-usa-2019-cheslie-kryst\/\"><em>New York Post<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Prior to her death,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CZWn2kuOVy_\/\">posted on her Instagram page<\/a>, \u201cMay this day bring you rest and peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CZWn2kuOVy_\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIn devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie,\u201d Kryst\u2019s family said in a statement on Sunday.&nbsp;\u201cHer great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCheslie&nbsp;embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cBut most importantly as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague \u2014 we know her impact will live on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kryst, who also worked as a correspondent for ExtraTV, spoke out about her struggles with mental health after winning the Miss USA pageant in 2019.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19687290\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/GettyImages-1187275121.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19687290\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/GettyImages-1187275121.jpg\" alt=\"Miss USA Cheslie Kryst walks on stage during the 2019 Miss Universe pageant at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia on December 8, 2019. (Valerie Macon\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI do a lot to make sure that I maintain my mental health,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=2493667867573383\">she said<\/a> on World Mental Health Day in 2019.&nbsp;\u201cAnd the most important thing that I did&nbsp;is talk&nbsp;to a counselor.&nbsp;She\u2019s really easy to talk to. She gives me great strategies especially if I\u2019m sad or happy or have a busy month ahead of me. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I\u2019m not talking to my counselor, I spend time at the end of every single day to just decompress,\u201d Kryst added. \u201cI unplug, I shut my phone off, I don\u2019t answer messages. I just sit and watch my favorite movies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehilltoponline.com\/2020\/05\/11\/video-miss-usa-talks-self-care-during-mental-health-awareness-month\/\">The Hilltop<\/a>&nbsp;in 2020, Kryst said she maintains her mental health by maintaining a regular schedule and following a strict regimen with computer and phone communication.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst reportedly leaped to her death from a New York City Midtown high-rise on Sunday in what police have ruled a suicide.
