Rogan.<\/p>\n<p>Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry \u2014 who both founded the anti-disinformation \u201cArchewell\u201d project \u2014 have denounced COVID \u201cmisinformation\u201d on the streaming platform Spotify, demanding that the service make \u201cchanges\u201d on issues concerning the Chinese coronavirus.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The statement from the wayward royals comes shortly after a number of artists abandoned the platform over its refusal to blacklist podcaster Joe Rogan.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/scobie\/status\/1487745677077721095?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1487745677077721095%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.sky.com%2Fstory%2Fharry-and-meghan-weigh-in-on-spotify-row-saying-they-expressed-concerns-about-covid-misinformation-last-april-12528731\">post<\/a> by journalist Omid Scobie, a spokesman for Archewell has aired concerns the pair have regarding the debacle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the inception of Archewell, we have worked to address the real-time global misinformation crisis,\u201d the statement read. \u201cHundreds of millions of people are affected by the serious harms of rampant mis- and disinformation every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cLast April, our co-founders [Meghan and Harry] began expressing concerns to our partners at Spotify about the all too real consequences of COVID-19 misinformation on its platform,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cWe have continued to express our concerns to Spotify to ensure changes to its platform are made to help address this public health crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The organisation\u2019s criticisms come despite Meghan and Harry having a lucrative deal with Spotify <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.ie\/news\/harry-and-meghan-express-concerns-but-will-continue-to-work-with-spotify-41293353.html\">reportedly<\/a> worth $25m, with the royal duo being recruited into hosting and producing podcasts.<\/p>\n<p>However, despite the deal, as of this reporting, only one podcast \u2014 a holiday special uploaded in 2020 \u2014 has been posted by the pair on Spotify under their Archewell Audio brand, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10262231\/What-happened-Meghan-Harrys-18m-Spotify-podcast-deal.html\">no<\/a> additional content being published in 2021.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In light of the ongoing controversy surrounding <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Spotify?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Spotify<\/a>\u2019s continued support of Joe Rogan, whose podcast has spread proven misinformation about Covid-19 and vaccine efficacy, a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/scobie\/status\/1487745677077721095?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 30, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Both Harry and Meghan, since abandoning their royal duties in 2020, have become heavily involved in tackling alleged online \u201cmisinformation\u201d, with Harry previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2021\/05\/03\/bidens-prince-harry-gets-standing-ovation-and-j-lo-headlines-vax-live-concert-in-la\/\">describing<\/a> \u201cvaccine disinformation\u201d online as a \u201cdigital pandemic\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The black-sheep prince also claims to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/10\/prince-harry-says-he-warned-twitter-boss-jack-dorsey-ahead-of-capitol-riot\/\">warned<\/a>&nbsp;then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey that the social media platform was \u201callowing a coup to be staged\u201d before the January 6 riot.<\/p>\n<p>Now it appears that the pair have turned the attention of their anti-fake news campaign on &nbsp;UFC commentator-turned-podcast host Joe Rogan, who has earned the ire of a number of musicians over some of his podcast\u2019s contents.<\/p>\n<p>Rogan \u2014 whose podcasts have racked up millions of listens online \u2014 has recently become the focal point of heavy criticism after left-wing rocker Neil Young <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/01\/24\/rocker-neil-young-demands-spotify-either-remove-his-music-or-blacklist-joe-rogan\/\">demanded<\/a> that Spotify remove him from the platform over misinformation concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Denouncing how the company was \u201cspreading fake information about vaccines\u201d, Young threatened to pull his own music off the platform should the company fail to censor Rogan.<\/p>\n<p>Spotify has since decided to bite the proverbial bullet regarding the ultimatum, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/01\/26\/spotify-to-remove-neil-young-music-after-he-demanded-they-cancel-joe-rogan\/\">announcing<\/a> that it would be taking Young\u2019s music off of its platform, but that it hoped that it would \u201cwelcome him back soon\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>California-based songwriter Joni Mitchell has since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/01\/29\/joni-mitchell-joins-protest-over-joe-rogan-spotify-podcast-i-stand-in-solidarity-with-neil-young\/\">joined<\/a> Young in taking her music off of the streaming service over Rogan\u2019s continued presence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIrresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives,\u201d Mitchell said regarding the
