Over the last year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2022\/01\/19\/joe-bidens-presidency-is-failing-just-about-everyone\/\">Biden agenda<\/a> has seemed laser-focused on keeping COVID-pandemic stimulus funding, and restrictions, alive \u2013 while simultaneously undoing nearly all of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/major-trump-decisions-that-biden-has-reversed-since-taking-office\/ss-AARgdZh\">Trump administration\u2019s executive orders<\/a>. Meanwhile, the media and American public have been focused on the domestic side effects of these policies, like rapidly rising <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/12\/now-bidens-given-america-the-worst-inflation-in-40-years\/\">inflation<\/a>, a supply-chain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2022\/01\/bidens-supply-chain-fixes-are-ineffective-and-thats-good\/\">crisis<\/a>, and skyrocketing <a href=\"https:\/\/philadelphiaweekly.com\/call-a-murder-a-murder\/\">crime<\/a> in our inner cities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This lack of coverage on international news has lulled the American public to sleep while a foreign affairs power vacuum not seen since before America entered World War II has emerged. As the White house continues to pivot to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-administration-issues-transgender-themed-back-school-message-urging-students-file-complaints-schools\/\">social issues<\/a> or climate change, it is increasingly apparent that China, Russia, and Iran are forming an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.belfercenter.org\/publication\/triple-axis-china-russia-iran-and-power-politics\">Axis<\/a> that are taking actions that may lead to global military conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, as the Biden administration restarted the Obama-era \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2021\/dec\/27\/iran-insists-on-crude-exports-as-vienna-nuclear-ta\/\">nuclear talks<\/a>\u201d with Iran, terror attacks by Iran-backed groups in Gaza and Houthi rebels in Yemen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.israelnationalnews.com\/news\/320055\">ramped up<\/a>. This included a recent Houthi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2022\/1\/17\/suspected-houthi-drone-attacks-abu-dhabi-uae-liveblog\">attack<\/a> on Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE, an ally of both the US and Israel.&nbsp; This may be due to the fact that Iran entered the 2021 round of nuclear talks with an emboldening backing from China and Russia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In November, 2021, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realcleardefense.com\/articles\/2021\/11\/27\/the_unchecked_rise_of_the_china-iran-russia_axis_805404.html\">spoke<\/a> over the phone about signing a strategic partnership agreement similar to the one Iran signed with China on March 27, 2021. The rise of the China-Iran-Russia axis presents a global challenge to the west, as well as post-Cold War alliances in Asia, the Middle-East, and Africa; presenting the single most important geopolitical challenge to national security in the past generation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The formalization and increasingly open cooperation between the three countries signal their acceptance that joining forces will help them more effectively achieve their shared and individual goals, whether it is a devaluation of the U.S. dollar and U.K. Pound Sterling as the global reserve currency, controlling Europe\u2019s energy through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/world\/nord-stream-2-pipeline-at-center-of-rival-gop-democrat-bills-to-sanction-russia-on-ukraine\/ar-AASIt8k\">Nord Stream II<\/a> pipeline, Iran\u2019s development of nuclear capabilities, and ongoing threats to Taiwan, the South <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoover.org\/research\/articles-south-china-sea-india-china-tensions-taiwan-chinas-military-challenge-and-bhutan\">China<\/a> Sea, Ukraine, Israel, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.alarabiya.net\/in-translation\/2021\/12\/25\/Russian-Chinese-Iranian-axis-is-the-largest-global-threat-in-2022\">Arab Peninsula<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden Administration, European Union, and the United Kingdom have failed to offer any strategic vision for how to counter this axis. Worse, the Biden administration has served to embolden this axis though the fiasco of its <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6094786\/biden-afghanistan-fallout\/\">hasty retreat<\/a> from Afghanistan, failure to support investigations into the Chinese origins of COVID-19, encouragement of Taiwan\u2019s participation in international organizations, cancellation of US energy export projects, and approval of Russia\u2019s Nordstream II pipeline only seem to be strengthening this powerful anti-American alliance.<\/p>\n<p>This absence of American strength on the world stage could force our allies into backing this axis over their traditional alliances with the west, which creates a loss in both defense and intelligence capabilities that protect America. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/iran-china-sign-major-25-year-strategic-cooperation-agreement\/\">25-year strategic cooperation agreement<\/a> between China and Iran affirmed China\u2019s tactical presence in the Middle East. As Russia cooperates with China, Iran and Turkey, an American ally, the balance of power in the Middle East and North Africa may be shifting away from the west.<\/p>\n<p>The existence of Iran-China-Russia agreements may force Ankara into signing similar strategic agreements, offering a Chinese lifeline to a faltering Turkish economy, and while nullifying any U.S. pressure on Ankara regarding support for the Kurds and opposition to Islamist groups in the region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Turkey decides to stay on the Western side, then it can use the threat of siding with Tehran and Beijing to gain favorable exchanges from the U.S. and other allies (i.e., a more extended power role in Eastern Mediterranean, carte blanche for its aggressiveness in the Aegean, a watchdog role in Libya, a free hand in Syria, a vanguard position to sting Russia\u2019s vulnerable border with Azerbaijan, to mention only few).\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoover.org\/research\/china-iran-and-russia-middle-east-and-se-mediterranean\">writes Zafiris Rossidis<\/a>, Head of Public Diplomacy Office at the UN Permanent Mission of Greece for the Hoover Institution \u201cIf Turkey decides break its alignment with the West, it will solidify its pacts with China and Iran to make up for the losses it will suffer by leaving the west. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>When the US withdrawal from <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/09\/01\/6-lies-president-joe-biden-told-about-afghanistan\/\">Afghanistan<\/a> was mishandled in a manner that resulted in the deaths of 13 American service members and 170 Afghans, the threat of a Biden administration committing US troops to any potential wars with allied countries in places like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/taiwan-says-china-flies-warplanes-into-its-air-defense-zone\/6409856.html\">Taiwan<\/a>, Israel, the UAE, and Ukraine was viewed as highly unlikely.
