\/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">So-called \u2018Plan B\u2019 restrictions have ended in England, with widespread mask mandates being officially scrapped in the country from today.<\/p>\n<p>England has now officially left \u201cPlan B\u201d, with widespread mask mandates no longer in effect from today.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The United Kingdom home nation has not fully escaped COVID measures however, moving to so-called \u201cPlan A\u201d measures which include allowing venues to require COVID certs on a voluntary basis.<\/p>\n<p>As announced by the Prime Minister last week, the last of England\u2019s \u201cPlan B\u201d measures \u2014 a widespread series of mask mandates and other rules \u2014 are no longer in effect from today.<\/p>\n<p>Masks had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/12\/08\/covid-1984-boris-locks-down-britain-before-christmas\/\">previously<\/a> been required in most public indoor venues, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/prime-minister-confirms-move-to-plan-b-in-england\">such as<\/a> shops, cinemas, places of worship, theatres, and public transport.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Also scrapped is the mandatory use of England\u2019s regime of COVID passes, which had been required for nightclubs as well as other venues where large href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/covid-19-restrictions-eased-today-as-england-moves-out-of-plan-b-and-back-to-plan-a-12525816\">attributed<\/a> the loosening of measures to the UK\u2019s successful booster campaign, as well as the country\u2019s regime of testing, jabs and treatment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur vaccines, testing and antivirals ensure we have some of the strongest defences in Europe and are allowing us to cautiously return to Plan A, restoring more freedoms to this country,\u201d Sky News reports Javid as saying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we learn to live with COVID we need to be clear-eyed that this virus is not going away so if you haven\u2019t already \u2013 please come forward for your first, second or booster jab,\u201d the Health Secretary continued.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, the timing of the loosening could also suggest that the move may have been part of Boris Johnson\u2019s so-called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/19\/it-only-took-a-massive-scandal-johnson-announces-end-of-mask-mandate\/\">Operation Red Meat<\/a>\u201d plan to win back public support.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/17\/saving-his-own-skin-boris-johnson-deploys-military-to-secure-border-in-bid-to-boost-popularity\/\">In response<\/a> to the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/18\/boris-nobody-told-me-boozy-lockdown-party-wasnt-work-related\/\">Partygate<\/a>\u201d scandal, the Johnson government has gone on a charm offensive, implementing popular policy changes such as announcing the eventual abolition of the BBC tax, as well as discussing deploying the navy to command operations in the English Channel of restrictions will no doubt be popular for Johnson\u2019s base, some \u201cPlan A\u201d measures will remain in place within England.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-england#passenger-locator-form\">According<\/a> to the government\u2019s official website, those aged 18 and over who are not considered fully vaccinated are still required to take a COVID test before travelling to England from outside the UK.&nbsp;A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk\">passenger locater form<\/a> is also still required for all passengers arriving from outside this \u2018common travel area\u2019, consisting of the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Also, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/jan\/19\/plan-a-new-covid-rules-england\">according<\/a> to a report from&nbsp;<em>The Guardian<\/em>, organisations wishing to use the government\u2019s system of COVID certs will continue to be able to do so, meaning that unjabbed individuals may still be discriminated against within the country.<\/p>\n<blockquote Schools Forcing Kids to Wear Face Coverings in Defiance of UK Prime Minister<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ImwBnsGqBx\">https:\/\/t.co\/ImwBnsGqBx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1484576538695802880?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 21, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite some measures remaining in place, England\u2019s dramatic loosening of its COVID rules appears to have triggered a sea change, opening the floodgates for other countries across Europe to follow suit.<\/p>\n<p>Since the country announced that it was dropping Plan B, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/22\/ireland-rips-up-vaccine-passport-after-half-a-year-of-restrictions-on-the-unvaxxed\/\">Ireland<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/21\/sea-change-france-ireland-set-to-follow-england-in-easing-covid-restrictions\/\">France<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/27\/forced-vax-vs-freedom-european-gap-on-covid-policy-widens-as-more-nations-ease-lockdown\/\">Northern Ireland<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/uk-scotland-60042339\">Scotland<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/27\/forced-vax-vs-freedom-european-gap-on-covid-policy-widens-as-more-nations-ease-lockdown\/\">the Netherlands<\/a> have all loosened restrictions, with Ireland in particular scrapping its internal regime of vaccine passes entirely last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this switch in attitude, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/27\/forced-vax-vs-freedom-european-gap-on-covid-policy-widens-as-more-nations-ease-lockdown\/\">other nations<\/a>, such as Austria and Italy, have clamped down further on their populations, especially on those considered unvaccinated against the Chinese Coronavirus. Austria is marching towards mandatory vaccination orders and Germany is discussing implementing the same.<\/p>\n<p>Some within England are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/21\/masks-forever-schools-forcing-kids-to-wear-face-coverings-in-defiance-of-uk-prime-minister\/\">also resisting<\/a> the shift away from lockdown restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Around 100 schools within the country had announced that they will keep forcing students to wear masks, regardless of the fact that the government has long since announced an end to the measure.<\/p>\n<p>Government officials have since complained that schools should be following the government guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been clear we have removed the requirement for face masks to be worn in classrooms and will remove advice for face masks to be worn in communal areas from 27 January,\u201d a statement from Downing Street on the topic read.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChildren have been one of the hardest hit as a result of this disruption through the pandemic and we recognise the impact this has had on their education,\u201d the statement continued.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, London\u2019s leftist mayor, Sadiq Khan, has announced that he will also continue forcing those using Transport for London services to wear masks, having the power to do so thanks to London\u2019s by-laws.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReminder: wearing a face covering is still mandatory on all TfL services unless you\u2019re exempt,\u201d Khan wrote online. \u201cI\u2019ll wear mine when I\u2019m out and about.
