Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/playbyplay\/_\/gameId\/401326633\">threw<\/a> a touchdown pass to Wide-Receiver Gabriel Davis with just thirteen seconds left in regulation and put Buffalo ahead by three points, seemingly spelling doom for the Chiefs.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Kansas City\u2019s quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, then marched down the field and tied the game at the end of regulation before breaking the hearts of Bill\u2019s fans in overtime with a game-winning touchdown pass to Tight End Travis Kelce, securing a 42-36 victory.<\/p>\n<p>In the days following the game, donations to Oishei Children\u2019s Hospital in Buffalo began to pour in from Chiefs fans, with many contributions being made in $13 increments, the <em>Buffalo News<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/buffalonews.com\/sports\/bills\/chiefs-fans-donate-more-than-178-000-to-oishei-childrens-hospital-many-in-13-increments\/article_2b378128-7e0a-11ec-bacf-870c52b26d3b.html\">reports<\/a>.&nbsp;The hospital <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OCHBuffalo\/status\/1486343716054917126?s=20\">announced<\/a> Wednesday morning it received donations totaling $178,000 from upwards of 9,80o Chiefs fans in 24-hours time.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">An incredible $178,000 from over 9800 donors has been donated in just over 24 hours from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ChiefsKingdom?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ChiefsKingdom<\/a> Thank you all! It\u2019s another huge win for the kids that we\u2019re helping out, day in and day out here in Western New York.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Donations from Chiefs fanatics began rolling in after a Facebook post from the fan page Chiefs Kingdom Memes suggested fans donate to the children\u2019s hospital, the outlet reports.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ChiefsMMZ\/posts\/244962201142803\" data-width=\"640\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/103710888601269\/posts\/244962201142803\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\">\n<p>Out of HUGE respect for Josh Allen, I\u2019m donating $13 to his foundation which supports the Children\u2019s Hospital of\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/103710888601269\">Chiefs Kingdom Memes<\/a> on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/103710888601269\/posts\/244962201142803\/\">Monday, January 24, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>The man who runs the account, Kansas City native Brett Fitgerald, told the <em>Buffalo News<\/em> he first decided to donate $13 to Mahomes\u2019s nonprofit,&nbsp;<span>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.15andthemahomies.org\/\"><span class=\"s2\">15 And The Mahomies<\/span><\/a>,\u201d and shared his idea to social media.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cIt started to go a little bit,\u201d Fitzgerald said. \u201cThen a friend of mine was talking with a buddy from Buffalo, and he said, \u2018If the Bills had won, they likely would have been donating to Mahomes\u2019 charity. We should donate to Josh Allen\u2019s charity.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Dude, I like that. You\u2019re right.&#8217;\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The outlet reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"lee-article-text\">\n<p>Fitzgerald googled Allen\u2019s nonprofit, which led him to stories about Bills fans donating more than a million dollars to Oishei Children\u2019s Hospital last season in honor of Allen\u2019s late grandmother.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"lee-article-text\">\n<p>Many of those donations were in $17 increments to reflect Allen\u2019s jersey number.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"lee-article-text\">\n<p>\u201cI remember all of that because it was widely covered,\u201d Fitzgerald explained. \u201cAnd so I immediately donated and changed the $13 donation suggestion over to Josh Allen\u2019s charity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fitzgerald then posted to Facebook on Monday night, asking Chiefs fans to follow suit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOut of HUGE respect for Josh Allen, I\u2019m donating $13 to his foundation, which supports the Children\u2019s Hospital of Buffalo.
