In fact, he\u2019s feeling downright hostile that the studio decided to take on the project at all.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d alum made his thoughts known on an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wtfpod.com\/podcast\/episode-1299-peter-dinklage\">episode<\/a> of Marc Maron\u2019s WTF podcast. While Dinklage respected Disney\u2019s decision to cast \u201cWest Side Story\u201d alum Rachel Zegler as the lead, he was not pleased about the 1937 film getting made in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLiterally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White \u2014 but you\u2019re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you\u2019re doing there. It makes no sense to me. You\u2019re progressive in one way, but then you\u2019re still making that f***ing backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together? What the f*** are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I\u2019m not loud enough.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Emmy Award-winning actor went on to say he would support the remake if it was \u201cprogressive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you tell the story of \u2018Snow White\u2019 with the most f***ed up, progressive spin on it? Let\u2019s do it. All in,\u201d Dinklage told Maron.<\/p>\n<p>While the actor only alluded to his issues with the film, it likely has to do with the portrayal of dwarfism. However, The Daily Wire\u2019s Matt Walsh pointed out how Dinklage was comfortable making jokes about dwarfism in film not too long ago. The actor played a best-selling children\u2019s author named Miles Finch in the 2003 Christmas classic \u201cElf.\u201d The entire bit revolved around Will Ferrell\u2019s character Buddy believing Miles Finch is an elf for real.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeter Dinklage appeared in the movie Elf for one scene where the whole joke is that Will Ferrell\u2019s character thinks he\u2019s an actual elf. The studio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-is-confused-andrew-burnap-cast-as-lead-male-character-in-disneys-new-snow-white-but-not-as-prince-or-huntsman\">caused quite a stir<\/a> by casting Tony Award winning actor Andrew Burnap as a male lead in the movie, but confirmed he will not be playing the prince or the huntsman. This surprising addition suggests that Disney is taking liberties with storytelling and changing up the structure of the original story. They\u2019re being intentionally vague about how that will happen, though.<\/p>\n<p>Snow White actress Zegler has also addressed the alleged changes. Though she didn\u2019t reveal details of the story, the \u201cWest Side Story\u201d star did admit the script features a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/disneys-snow-white-remake-will-update-classic-story-with-a-stronger-narrative-lead-actress-says\">\u201cstronger\u201d narrative<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s not much I can say about it besides the fact that Snow White has constantly been criticized \u2014 even though she\u2019s the original Disney princess and we love her so much \u2014 but criticized for existing solely for a prince, existing solely to be rescued,\u201d Zegler explained.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that our director, Marc Webb, and everyone who\u2019s working on this film has really taken her narrative and turned it into something that\u2019s a lot stronger.
