I just think he\u2019s saying, look, I don\u2019t want to be part of this organization. If my music is helping people bring to the table and they\u2019re spreading something as lethal as don\u2019t take the vaccine, do this. I\u2019m against any kind of censorship really. I really am. Should it be Spotify?\u201d Goldberg asked. \u201cWhen you have someone like Neil Young who says, I don\u2019t want to be part of that because it\u2019s misinformation that\u2019s hurting people,&nbsp;where is Spotify? Is it Spotify\u2019s job to pick this up and run with the ball?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, no. It\u2019s not Spotify\u2019s job. We have a First Amendment in this country. You can\u2019t pick and choose when you want to use the First Amendment,\u201d Joy Behar replied.<\/p>\n<p>Former federal prosecutor <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/sunny-hostin-mark-kelly-is-the-white-moderate-mlk-warned-about\/\">Sunny Hostin<\/a> pushed back, saying that she wasn\u2019t sure she agreed with Behar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll tell you what I think. I think Joe Rogan is a horror, a horror,\u201d Behar continued, saying that the best way to counter \u201cbad speech\u201d was with \u201cmore speech\u201d and with individuals choosing to boycott Spotify.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI admire Neil Young for doing this. He\u2019s from the \u201960s where musicians took political stands. They don\u2019t let things go. I don\u2019t see many others taking a stand. That will be legitimate. It\u2019s not a cancel culture. It\u2019s a consequence culture, and the way we handle it is we don\u2019t buy Spotify. We ignore Spotify,\u201d Behar added.<\/p>\n<p>The panel went on to suggest that Spotify could simply remove episodes that were determined to contain \u201cmisinformation\u201d or introduce a Disclaimer to Rogan\u2019s show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou give people a platform to counter what he\u2019s spewing or the guests that he\u2019s having on. \u2026 You have to do something to mitigate that,\u201d guest co-host Lisa Ling said, adding that Spotify would never remove Rogan because he made too much money for them \u2013 but they should be required to add a Disclaimer to his show.<\/p>\n<p>Hostin noted that because Spotify was a private company, the First Amendment \u2014 which restricts the government from limiting speech \u2014 did not really apply.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thing about Joe Rogan is his popularity. Sunny mentioned the 11 million listeners per episode. People are hungry for conversations,\u201d co-host Sara Haines added. \u201cHe has a three-hour conversation with his guests and he brings on opposing views. In fact, he doesn\u2019t see that as platforming them. He had Dr. Gupta on a month ago. He has had controversial guests like Alex Jones and that one was removed. I think people are hungry to have open conversations, disagreements, debates, and they don\u2019t want to be told how to feel about it. They want those people to have their conversation, and they want it to be up to them just like when they watch TV and media and news.
