I let my son down and I\u2019m not OK with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 27-year-old said he was offered the opportunity to have&nbsp;\u201csome very real and honest conversations\u201d with leaders of various black organizations, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/morgan-wallen-speaks-out-n-word-controversy\">according<\/a> to Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis week I heard firsthand some personal stories from Black people that honestly shook me,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd I know what I\u2019m going through this week doesn\u2019t even compare to some of the trials I about from them. I came away from those discussions with a deep appreciation for them and a clearer understanding of the weight of&nbsp;my words.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur actions matter,\u201d Wallen said. \u201cOur words matter and I just want to encourage anyone watching to please learn from my mistake. There\u2019s no reason to downplay what I did. It matters and please know I\u2019m carefully choosing my next steps in repair.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wallen said he tends to make mistakes when he\u2019s not sober, and announced he\u2019s been sober for nine days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve decided to go off the grid for a little while and get used to making good decisions,\u201d he told his fans. \u201cI want my team, my family, my friends and even strangers to trust me. Hell, I wanna trust me. Who knows if I\u2019ll be able to live down all the mistakes I\u2019ve made, but I\u2019m certainly going to try.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TMZ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2021\/02\/02\/morgan-wallen-n-word-nashville-neighbors\/\">published<\/a> a video reportedly recorded by a neighbor showing Wallen using expletives and the N-word after a night out in Nashville with friends:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p id=\"cb-1816e1e2d56dbc6a5ee4b065e9a550a0\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink canvas-text-block--default\" data-context=\"{&quot;section&quot;:&quot;permalink&quot;,&quot;name&quot;:&quot;text_block&quot;}\"><em>Morgan Wallen returned home Sunday from a rowdy night with friends, and as he walked up his driveway he hurled the n-word and other profanities, it\u2019s all on video and Wallen is remorseful.<\/em><\/p>\n<p id=\"cb-12ec34a31c4732d77c6f09d27e4fec94\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink canvas-text-block--default\" data-context=\"{&quot;section&quot;:&quot;permalink&quot;,&quot;name&quot;:&quot;text_block&quot;}\"><em>The country star and a group of buddies had just spent a night out in Nashville. When they arrived at Morgan\u2019s home at around midnight, they were extremely loud \u2026 honking horns and talking loudly \u2026 loud enough to piss off neighbors. One of the neighbors began recording the antics.<\/em><\/p>\n<p id=\"cb-e177d0f6b41253bea27b911a7c4c35cf\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink canvas-text-block--default\" data-context=\"{&quot;section&quot;:&quot;permalink&quot;,&quot;name&quot;:&quot;text_block&quot;}\"><em>As Morgan appears to stumble toward his house, he tells someone to watch over a guy in his group. He says \u2026 \u201ctake care of this p****-ass mother******\u201d \u2014 and then goes on to say, \u201ctake care of this p****-ass n*****\u201d \u2026 before finally heading in.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The country star released a statement of apology and a promise to \u201cdo better.\u201d&nbsp;\u201cI\u2019m embarrassed and sorry,\u201d the \u201c7 &nbsp;Summers\u201d singer said. \u201cI used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following the video, Wallen\u2019s music was removed from numerous platforms. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/siriusxm-pandora-cmt-iheartradio-pull-morgan-wallen-music-following-n-word-video-recorded-by-neighbor\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Wallen\u2019 music was&nbsp;pulled by&nbsp;Cumulus Media. The country music heavyweight sent a directive to all of its 400-plus stations to remove Wallen\u2019s songs from their playlists \u201ceffective immediately,\u201d Variety <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/music\/news\/morgan-wallen-country-radio-removed-racial-slur-1234899010\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>iHeartRadio, Entercom, cable network CMT, satellite service SiriusXM, and streaming service Pandora have all also removed the 27-year-old\u2019s songs.
