Facebook said that its research team is using the supercomputer to train AI models in natural-language processing and computer vision for research.<\/p>\n<p>The company hopes to improve the computer\u2019s abilities until it can train models with over a trillion parameters on data sets, some of which are as large as an exabyte. When the supercomputer is fully finished by mid-summer, it will contain 16,000 GPUs, making it the fastest supercomputer in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Jerome Pesenti, the company\u2019s vice president of AI, commented:&nbsp;\u201cFor us, it\u2019s an order of magnitude larger compute that\u2019s available to our researchers to train a single model with a lot more compute than anybody else in the world has access to.
