It is with a beating, heavy heart that I say I coped in isolation and, at times, destructively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Charisma went on, she claimed that Whedon was \u201cmean and biting\u201d after she became pregnant, calling her fat and putting her through intentionally difficult work hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe called me in for a sit-down meeting to interrogate and berate me regarding a rosary tattoo I got to help me feel more spiritually grounded in an increasingly volatile work environment that affected me physically,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoss intentionally refused multiple calls from my agents making it impossible to connect with him to tell him the news that I was pregnant,\u201d she continued. \u201cFinally, once Joss was apprised of the situation, he requested a meeting with me. In that closed-door meeting, he asked if I was \u2018going to keep it\u2019 and manipulatively weaponized my faith and womanhood against me. He proceeded to attack my character, mock my religious beliefs, accuse me of sabotaging the show, and then unceremoniously fired me the following season after I gave birth.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Fw0SkHU87c\">pic.twitter.com\/Fw0SkHU87c<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 charisma carpenter (@AllCharisma) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AllCharisma\/status\/1359537752853807105?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 10, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In July of last year, actor Ray Fisher publicly accused Whedon of \u201cgross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable\u201d behavior while on set.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoss Wheadon\u2019s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Accountability&gt;Entertainment,\u201d Fisher&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ray8fisher\/status\/1278362556214755329?s=20\">tweeted<\/a>&nbsp;in early July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the LA reshoots for Justice League, Geoff Johns summoned me to his office to belittle and admonish my (and my agent\u2019s) attempts to take grievances up the proper chain of command. He then made a thinly veiled threat to my career. This behavior cannot continue,\u201d he then&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ray8fisher\/status\/1293652833615708172?s=20\">tweeted<\/a>&nbsp;in August.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Fisher elaborated on his allegations when he told&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/sherazfarooqi\/2020\/10\/29\/interview-ray-fisher-talks-toxic-justice-league-set-warnermedia-investigation-and-erasing-characters-of-color\/amp\/?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Forbes<\/a>&nbsp;that Warner Bros. film boss Toby Emmerich and other executives participated in \u201cracist conversations\u201d during the reshoots and editing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat set my soul on fire and forced me to speak out about Joss Whedon this summer was my becoming informed that Joss had ordered that the complexion of an actor of color be changed in postproduction because he didn\u2019t like the color of their skin tone,\u201d Fisher said. \u201cPrior to Justice League\u2019s reshoot process, blatantly racist conversations were had and entertained \u2014 on multiple occasions \u2014 by former and current top-level executives at Warner Bros. Pictures,\u201d he further alleged. \u201cDecision-makers that participated in those racist conversations were Geoff Johns, Jon Berg, and current Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In late August, WarnerMedia launched an investigation into Fisher\u2019s claims against Whedon, Johns, and Berg.
