Gavin Newsom apologized Friday for using the term \u201cgangs\u201d to describe groups of people who have been attacking and robbing cargo trains near downtown Los Angeles, as he toured the wreckage.<\/p>\n<p>As Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2022\/01\/21\/gavin-newsom-on-l-a-rail-theft-we-look-like-a-third-world-country\/\">reported<\/a>, Newsom arrived at the site and helped a cleanup crew, just days after viral video showed thieves targeting the trains, and debris scattered in every direction, showing torn cardboard boxes that will never reach their destinations.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Newsom professed shock at the devastation, saying it made California look like a \u201cThird World country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy White of&nbsp;<em>Politico<\/em> noted:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI\u2019m asking myself, what the hell is going on? (Photo by Mario Tama\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As Breitbart News noted, the Union Pacific rail line has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2022\/01\/18\/union-pacific-demands-soros-backed-l-a-d-a-george-gascon-do-more-to-stop-rail-theft\/\">written<\/a> to left-wing, George Soros-backed L.A. District Attorney George Gasc\u00f3n, threatening to route rail traffic around L.A. if he did not crack down on rail theft in a serious manner.<\/p>\n<p>Gasc\u00f3n has pursued \u201ccriminal justice reform\u201d as Los Angeles has suffered a wave of violent crime.<\/p>\n<p>L.A. County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, who opposes Gasc\u00f3n\u2019s policies, told the&nbsp;Fox News Channel on Friday that Newsom is part of the problem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, we have the governor picking up trash around the rail yard because of the rash of rail thefts that are plaguing Union Pacific rail lines. And he says he wants prosecution, but then he turns around and endorses George Gasc\u00f3n, who does not prosecute thefts,\u201d Villanueva said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s legalized petty theft\u2026without a proper prosecution, it does us no good or very little good to just arrest people that are going to be released immediately. So, that part of the equation is missing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Joel B.
