Participants also decided whether to compete in a social or competitive bracket, and the organization also held a raffle.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Homes for the Brave website <a href=\"https:\/\/homesforthebrave.org\/?fbclid=IwAR11L7D0kKi0zNw9P1T_CWg7q8K3TR9JEt50piYhcgycEHMAxSZW712Vnfo\">said<\/a> more than 1,400 have been served since 2002.<\/p>\n<p>The site <a href=\"https:\/\/homesforthebrave.org\/about\/\">continued<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A great need exists for housing programs and support services like ours. On any given night, 40,000 United States Veterans&nbsp;find themselves homeless, and another 1.4 million are at-risk of homelessness due to a lack of affordable housing, financial resources, and support.<span><i>&nbsp;<\/i><\/span>With the help of our community, we will continue to uphold our mission of helping Connecticut\u2019s Veterans and other individuals experiencing homelessness to return to meaningful, productive lives.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During the event, a man who appeared to be with organization&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100064506677534\/videos\/pcb.303874561772764\/960194391592375\">thanked<\/a> everyone for joining the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are growing, and your support helps us do things like right now, we\u2019re preparing two houses in West Haven, Connecticut, to accept male veterans experiencing homelessness,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the same time, we will be expanding our veteran\u2019s service center clinical program into an annex in downtown Bridgeport where we\u2019ll be able to provide things like yoga classes, programming, a food pantry, etc for veterans who are struggling.
