Investigators have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2021\/02\/investigators-recommend-no-charges-capitol-police-officer-shot-killed-ashli-babbitt-still-wont-release-identity\/\">recommended no charges<\/a> for Capitol police officer who fired the shots. However, we still don\u2019t know why his name is kept under wraps.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting of pro-Trump protester, Ashli Babbitt, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/02\/01\/politics\/us-capitol-police-shooting-insurrection\/index.html\">remains under investigation<\/a> by the DC Metropolitan Police, the US Attorney\u2019s Office in Washington, DC, and civil rights prosecutors, a routine process for shootings involving the Capitol Police.<\/p>\n<p>We can confirm after speaking to the lawyers for the Babbit family that the Capitol Hill Police Lieutenant lawyered up since the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>Babbit was shot in cold blood and was unarmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-extras trending\"><strong>TRENDING:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2021\/02\/must-read-democrats-able-win-2020-breaking-chain-custody-laws-every-swing-state\/\" data-type=\"Internal link\" data-type-location=\"in-content-trending\">MUST READ: Democrats Were ONLY Able to &#8220;Win&#8221; in 2020 By Breaking Chain of Custody Laws in EVERY SWING STATE<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The attorney for the shooter told reporters recently that their client\u2019s \u201cheroism and his restraint\u201d saved lives.<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Seriously?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Attorney <strong>Mark Schamel<\/strong> posted a statement this week on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowenstein.com\/news-insights\/in-the-media\/mark-e-schamel-washington-dc-based-partner-in-lowenstein-s-white-collar-criminal-defense-group-represents-the-capitol-police-office\">Lowenstein Sandler website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowenstein.com\/people\/attorneys\/mark-schamel\"><strong>Mark E. Schamel<\/strong><\/a>, Washington, D.C.-based partner in Lowenstein\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowenstein.com\/practices\/white-collar-criminal-defense\">White Collar Criminal Defense<\/a>\u00a0group, represents the Capitol Police officer accused of shooting a rioter who was part of the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
