I was always scared of the reaction to it, and as this has played out, that only proved to be more true for me. I\u2019m sure many people feel different, but that\u2019s me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the emerging realities over the past few months is that many are simply exhausted by the pandemic now and what feels like ever-changing standards from governments and scientists \u2014 changing regulations, requirement and edicts, like the recent move to quarantine now for just five days if you test positive for Covid,\u201d a reporter with Deadline said to Maher. \u201cListening to you, it sounds like you really don\u2019t think Dr. Anthony Fauci or the medical establishment really know what they are doing, that this is more whack-a-mole?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t know a lot about anything,\u201d Maher responded. \u201cThat\u2019s not a criticism of them like they\u2019re being corrupt, although there certainly is plenty of corruption in the medical establishment. But I\u2019ve always maintained that the big, overarching theme should be that people look back and say, oh, look how far we\u2019ve come medically. Yes, that\u2019s true. We\u2019re not putting wooden teeth in our mouth like in the George Washington era, and of course we have antibiotics and lots of vaccines and lots of other things that have been miraculous. But in general, we still don\u2019t understand too much about how the human body works.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, don\u2019t sit there in your white coat and tell me, just do what we say. When have we ever been wrong?\u201d Maher added. \u201cA lot is my answer. A lot. They drilled mercury into my teeth when I was a child. Now, of course, we don\u2019t do that anymore, but do you really think in 50 years people will look back and say, oh, yeah, we had it all figured out in 2022? No, they will be appalled at things we\u2019re doing right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During this week\u2019s broadcast of \u201cReal Time with Bill Maher,\u201d Maher repeatedly slammed the response from the political Left to the pandemic, saying that despite claiming to be pro-science, many of the things that they do have nothing to do with science.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is I think where Democrats look bad. Like, \u2018We\u2019re the people of science\u2019 and then a lot of what they do has nothing to do with science, like suggesting you wear masks outside. There\u2019s no science to that,\u201d Maher said. \u201cOr that the virus can get me when I\u2019m walking in a restaurant but not when I\u2019m sitting down. There\u2019s so much mindless bureaucracy!
