Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/GettyImages-618849438-640x335-1.png\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">A 49-year-old man who was found dead inside his Charles County, Maryland, residence Wednesday was surrounded by 124 venomous and non-venomous snakes, according to investigators.<\/p>\n<p>The Charles County Sheriff\u2019s Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wusa9.com\/article\/news\/local\/maryland\/man-found-dead-in-charles-county-home-with-100-snakes-investigators-say-the-reptiles-were-venomous-and-nonvenomous\/65-edee7248-3f72-43ec-b7da-43e18ec2d399\">said<\/a> first responders were called to a home in the 5500 block of Raphael Drive in Pomfret once they were notified by a neighbor the resident of the house was unconscious on the floor, WUSA 9 reported Thursday.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The neighbor said he went to the home to check on the individual because he had not seen him in over a day.<\/p>\n<p>After EMS crews arrived and forced entrance into the front door, they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ccsomd\/posts\/303098081859859\">pronounced<\/a> the man deceased.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ccsomd\/posts\/303098081859859\" data-width=\"640\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/100064790080416\/posts\/303098081859859\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\">\n<p>Death Investigation on Raphael Drive: On January 19 at 6 p.m., officers responded to a single-family home in the 5500\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ccsomd\">Charles County Sheriff&#8217;s Office<\/a> on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/100064790080416\/posts\/303098081859859\/\">Thursday, January 20, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>First responders notified animal control officials when they saw dozens of snakes inside the house, lying in tanks on racks.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Jennifer Harris, who is a spokesperson for Charles County Animal Control, said the team \u201ctagged and bagged\u201d over 100 snakes that were venomous and non-venomous.<\/p>\n<p>Video footage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WuqSlk8Giqo\">showed<\/a> officials taking some of the reptiles out of the house:<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Harris noted neighbors did not know he had snakes inside the home, adding the man appeared to have lived by himself.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<p>\u201cI do want to assure the community, [and] anybody living in this neighborhood, we have not seen that any of the snakes were not properly secured or could have escaped,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know people were worried that there could be some danger to people living nearby, but at this point, we have not uncovered or determined that any of the snakes actually were not secured after this gentleman\u2019s death,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, the sheriff\u2019s office said detectives were investigating the death of the man.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThere were no obvious signs of foul play and the decedent was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy,\u201d the agency stated.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Charles County Chief of Animal Control says in his 30 years of doing this, he\u2019s never seen anything like it.
