While Moore lamented how little the environmental movement has gained in recent years, Dax Shepard believed that the left has targeted the wrong people, specifically in regards to climate change.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_19580506\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/MichaelMoore_Screenshot-06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19580506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/MichaelMoore_Screenshot-06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1104\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Armchair Expert<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cBoth sides ultimately end up funneling into a terrible paradigm of good and evil, and selfish and unselfish. And these things are just so incomplete, and they\u2019re so lazy,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/podcasts\/dax-shepard-hits-the-left-for-shaming-gas-car-drivers-your-movement-wasnt-very-fcking-effective\/\">began Shepard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the left what I have seen the approach be is A)&nbsp; completely ignoring the source of carbon,\u201d&nbsp; Shepard said. \u201cWe had Bill Gates on, we read his book, it\u2019s so fucking good, everyone should read it, it\u2019s a real fucking problem and it has to be addressed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Shepard emphasized that the problem must be addressed \u201cby lobbing off the worse offenders in order,\u201d the least of which is cars.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOne of the least offenders, I hate to tell everyone, is cars. It\u2019s one of the more insignificant elements of this huge pie of carbon,\u201d said Shepard.&nbsp;\u201cThe left has taken it and just fired up the shame machine. That\u2019s what we love to do. We are the big pointers at people. We\u2019re the shame-mongers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Listen below:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Shepard ultimately concluded that shame-mongering does more harm than good, saying it\u2019s one of the biggest frustrations he has with the left.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you approach people with, \u2018You\u2019re a piece of shit cause you drive this car\u2019 and you\u2019re actually not accurate about it being a big slice of the pie,\u201d he concluded. \u201cGuess what, you\u2019re movement wasn\u2019t very fucking effective. And I have that frustration with our side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Vox <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/energy-and-environment\/2019\/10\/10\/20904213\/climate-change-steel-cement-industrial-heat-hydrogen-ccs\">pointed out<\/a> in 2020, cars make up just 6 percent of the world\u2019s global CO2 emissions versus heavy industry, which makes up for 22 percent of global CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Heavy industry is responsible for around 22 percent of global CO2 emissions. Forty-two percent of that \u2014 about 10 percent of global emissions \u2014 comes from combustion to produce large amounts of high-temperature heat for industrial products like cement, steel, and petrochemicals.<\/p>\n<p>To put that in perspective, industrial heat\u2019s 10 percent&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/energypolicy.columbia.edu\/research\/report\/low-carbon-heat-solutions-heavy-industry-sources-options-and-costs-today\">is greater than the CO2 emissions of all the world\u2019s cars<\/a>&nbsp;(6 percent) and planes (2 percent) combined. Yet, consider how much you hear about electric vehicles. Consider how much you hear about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/the-highlight\/2019\/7\/25\/8881364\/greta-thunberg-climate-change-flying-airline\">flying shame<\/a>. Now consider how much you hear about \u2026 industrial heat.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dax Shepard\u2019s level-headed comments about climate change messaging come in the same week that actor Leonardo DiCaprio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/01\/20\/leonardo-dicaprio-earth-literally-has-nine-years-left-on-its-ticking-clock\/\">lamented that<\/a> the earth has only nine years left to sustain itself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a ticking clock,\u201d DiCaprio told Deadline. \u201cI think there\u2019s a worldwide sense of anxiety about the fact that the powers that be, the private sector, governments, are not making the transition fast enough.
