Today he hadn\u2019t planned on going, and so I\u2019m sure they will be very well prepared in the future, and do a great job in the case,\u201d he added. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot to say, and I know they feel very strongly about fighting against what they are seeing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schoen was speaking on Fox News\u2019s \u201cHannity.\u201d Host\u00a0Sean Hannity, a strong Trump proponent, told Schoen that some conservatives called him and said, \u201cWhoa, we need someone harder-hitting here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hannity also called the defense \u201csomewhat meandering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several Republicans had expressed confusion about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trump-lawyers-opening-argument-majority-in-the-house-afraid-of-facing-trump-in-the-future_3691329.html\">the arguments advanced<\/a> during the opening day of the trial by Trump\u2019s team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought I knew where it was going, and I really didn\u2019t know where it was going,\u201d Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think they were very well prepared,\u201d\u00a0Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-S.D.) charged on CNN\u2019s \u201cOutfront.\u201d While they \u201cwere adequate,\u201d House managers \u201cmade a superior presentation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. (congress.gov via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Castor\u2019s opening statement included \u201cno argument,\u201d constitutional attorney Alan Dershowitz, who helped represent Trump in the first impeachment trial last year, said during a virtual appearance on Newsmax.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCome on. The American people are entitled to an argument, a constitutional argument,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Other Republicans took aim at the Democrat representatives acting as prosecutors in the trial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday typified what we\u2019re going to see this week, which is, it reminds me of Shakespeare. It\u2019s full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. We\u2019re going to see this week a whole lot of Democrats pounding the table, we\u2019re going to see a lot of moralizing, and a lot of really venting their hatred for Donald Trump,\u201d Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said on Fox.<\/p>\n<p>Many Democrat senators, though, said the impeachment managers did a good job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday was so powerful in the team\u2019s presentation of the founder\u2019s worst nightmare: Donald Trump\u2019s attempt to overthrow a lawful election and keep himself in power by inciting a mob assault,\u201d Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said in a video statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever forget yesterday. It was pretty darn sobering,\u201d Sen.
