The former president spending the day watching the trial from inside his private quarters at Mar-A-Lago, no golf with the very same plan for tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeanwhile, at a time when he certainly could opt to reduce the political temperature in the country, Mr. Biden apparently is taking a pass, opting instead to not weigh in as his predecessors being impeached once again, despite what critics have called hypocrisy on the left, and a deafening silence from the White House,\u201d Corke added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s impeachment defense team underwent some issues recently with numerous high-profile lawyers parting ways with the team just days before the Senate trial started this week.&nbsp;The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-trumps-impeachment-defense-team-collapses-ahead-of-senate-trial-top-lawyers-out\">reported<\/a> at the end of last month:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Multiple&nbsp;reports&nbsp;indicated that Butch Bowers, a South Carolina lawyer who assembled the impeachment defense team, and Deborah Barbier, a criminal defense lawyer in South Carolina, were no longer going to be part of Trump\u2019s team and that the decision was \u201cmutual.\u201d Josh Howard, a North Carolina attorney, has also&nbsp;reportedly left Trump\u2019s team, and South Carolina lawyers Johnny Gasser and Greg Harris are also reportedly out.&nbsp;<\/em>\u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>CNN,&nbsp;The New York Times, and&nbsp;The Associated Press&nbsp;noted that the team fell apart after Trump wanted them to focus on claims that the election was stolen from through election fraud \u2014 a claim that former Attorney General William Barr, a favorite in Trump world, had completely&nbsp;dismissed&nbsp;as false. The lawyers reportedly said no, and that was when the parties decided to part ways.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe Democrats\u2019 efforts to impeach a president who has already left office is totally unconstitutional and so bad for our country,\u201d Jason Miller, an adviser to the former president, told The Daily Wire at the time. \u201cIn fact, 45 Senators have already voted that it is unconstitutional. We have done much work, but have not made a final decision on our legal team, which will be made shortly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The next day, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-announces-new-legal-team-for-impeachment-defense-after-previous-team-collapsed\">announced<\/a> the new legal team that would be heading his impeachment defense efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The statement Trump issued called trial lawyers David Schoen and Bruce L. Castor, Jr. \u201chighly respected\u201d and said that Schoen had already been working with Trump\u2019s team. The statement suggested that the argument on which Trump\u2019s team will focus is that the impeachment trial is \u201cunconstitutional.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schoen said, \u201cIt is an honor to represent the 45th President, Donald J. Trump, and the United States Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Castor added, \u201cI consider it a privilege to represent the 45th President.
