Per NPR, Roberts\u2019 request was at the behest of Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor. The 67-year-old leftist justice was worried about the omicron surge with respect to her personal health problems. NPR then claimed that conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch is such a mean and terrible person, he refused to mask up, which forced Sotomayor to work remotely.<\/p>\n<p>NPR\u2019s story came from one unnamed source.<\/p>\n<p>By Wednesday at noon, everyone involved in the story \u2014 and I do mean <em>everyone<\/em> \u2014 went on the record to debunk the story.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Both Justice Sotomayor and Gorsuch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/19\/nolte-fox-says-nprs-story-about-neil-gorsuch-refusing-to-wear-mask-is-fake-news\/\">released<\/a> the following statement: \u201cReporting that Justice Sotomayor asked Justice Gorsuch to wear a mask surprised us. It is false. While we may sometimes disagree about the law, we are warm colleagues and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then the Chief Justice himself <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/us-supreme-court-justice-draws-flak-for-not-wearing-mask\/\">issued<\/a> a statement: \u201cI did not request Justice Gorsuch or any other Justice to wear a mask on the bench.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So NPR runs this story based on an anonymous source, all three people named in the story go ON THE RECORD to deny the report unequivocally, and what do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2018\/11\/30\/npr-busted-spreading-fake-news-about-donald-trump-jr\/\">the proven liars<\/a> at NPR do? They stand by the story (I don\u2019t link fake news):<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NPR stands by its reporting.<\/p>\n<p>What is incontrovertible is that all the justices have at once started wearing masks \u2014 except Gorsuch. Meanwhile, Sotomayor has stayed out of the courtroom. Instead, she has participated remotely in the court\u2019s arguments and the justices\u2019 weekly conference, where they discuss the cases and vote on them.<\/p>\n<p>That pattern continued Wednesday as the court heard arguments in a campaign finance case brought by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And that\u2019s it. You see, when you are part of the left-wing propaganda machine, that\u2019s all you have to do. So NPR can just say, despite the three people actually involved saying otherwise, <em>Nyah, nyah, <\/em>it\u2019s <em>\u201cincontrovertible\u201d because blah, blah, blah.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>NPR did no additional reporting, nothing\u2026<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>So how is this possible? Why will NPR get away with this?<\/p>\n<p>Well, this is how broken the establishment media ecosystem is. In a sane ecosystem, in an ecosystem where the rest of the media cared about things like credibility, NPR would be pressed to explain itself, to answer why we should believe its anonymous source over the three people directly involved issuing very public denials.<\/p>\n<p>But that\u2019s not how the establishment media operate anymore.
