And when they drop from Both Eyes, it\u2019s Frustration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are three different types of tears, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevelandeyeclinic.com\/2019\/07\/16\/three-types-of-tears\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Cleveland Eye Clinic<\/a>: basal, emotional and reflex. Basal tears are constantly shed to protect the eye, emotional tears stem from overwhelming emotion and possibly stress chemicals and reflex tears are used to flush out or clean the eye, the clinic explains. <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/12\/16\/fact-check-sneezes-cause-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Do You Die For A Millisecond When You Sneeze?)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Though emotional tears can be triggered by a broad range of emotions, including \u201cphysical pain; attachment-related pain; empathic, compassionate pain; societal pain and sentimental or moral feelings,\u201d according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aao.org\/eye-health\/tips-prevention\/all-about-emotional-tears\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AAO<\/a>, the claim that specific emotions can cause tears to be shed in one eye and not the other is false. Neither the AAO\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aao.org\/search\/results?q=tears%20from%20one%20eye%20not%20the%20other&amp;realmName=_UREALM_&amp;wt=json&amp;rows=10&amp;start=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> nor the Cleveland Eye Clinic\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevelandeyeclinic.com\/?s=tears+emotions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> mention such a phenomenon.<\/p>\n<p>An article from the <a href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/tears-why-we-cry-and-more-infographic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cleveland Clinic<\/a> disputes the claim as not true.
