It\u2019s Chicago. It gets cold at night. You can\u2019t leave a baby out to the elements,\u201d Dawn Geras of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SaveAbandonedBabies\">Save Abandoned Babies Foundation<\/a> commented.<\/p>\n<p>It was not immediately known how long the baby was outside the building.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Geras noted that after years of advocating for the Safe Haven law and informing the community about it, she felt devastated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt makes me feel like I failed. There was one other woman out there who didn\u2019t know about the law or how to use it, and because of that, there\u2019s a dead baby on the door steps of a fire house. It shouldn\u2019t happen,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were so close to doing the right thing.
