Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA), and others have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/josh-hawley-announces-bill-banning-insider-trading-in-congress\">proposed<\/a> legislation that would stop lawmakers and their spouses from holding, buying, or selling individual stocks.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Psaki responded to a question about President Biden\u2019s views on insider trading rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President didn\u2019t trade individual stocks when he was a senator, that is how we approached things,\u201d Psaki <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/biden-administration-stock-trading-congress-69774494-4ad4-47dd-bf24-ca0845848211.html\">said<\/a>. \u201cHe also believes that everyone should be held to the highest standard, but he\u2019ll let the leadership in Congress \u2026 determine what the rule should be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden family\u2019s own alleged dealings, however, have raised eyebrows. One 2017 email found on Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/politico-finally-acknowledges-that-major-portions-of-hunter-biden-story-have-been-verified-something-conservative-outlets-reported-long-ago\">included<\/a> the question \u201c10 held by H for the big guy?\u201d An ex-business partner of Hunter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/hunter-bidens-ex-business-partner-alleges-father-knew-about-venture-11603421247\">claimed<\/a>, \u201cthe big guy\u201d referred to Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) \u2014 whose husband, Paul Pelosi, frequently trades large volumes of assets \u2014 has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pelosi-on-why-congress-should-be-allowed-to-trade-stock-after-dozens-broke-law-we-should-be-able-to\">dodged<\/a> questions as to why lawmakers should be allowed to trade individual stocks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMadam Speaker, Insider just completed a five\u2011month investigation finding that 49 Members of Congress and 182 senior Congressional staffers have violated the STOCK Act, the insider trading law,\u201d said a reporter. \u201cI\u2019m wondering if you have any reaction to that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I don\u2019t \u2014 no, to the second one. Any \u2014 we have a responsibility to report in the stock \u2014 on the stock,\u201d Pelosi responded. \u201cBut I don\u2019t \u2014 I\u2019m not familiar with that five month review, but if the people aren\u2019t reporting, they should be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy shouldn\u2019t they be banned?\u201d the reporter continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause this is a free market and people \u2014 we are a free market economy,\u201d Pelosi replied. \u201cThey should be able to participate in that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Podcast host Joe Rogan later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/rogan-rips-pelosi-for-defending-politicians-trading-stock-have-you-ever-seen-a-person-look-more-nervous\">slammed<\/a> Pelosi for the remarks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey make their money when they get out,\u201d Rogan said of politicians after they leave office. \u201cWhat it is is [it\u2019s] like an investment, if you get out you will have money for speaking engagements with all the companies that you helped, all the companies that you like, \u2018Hey, I like you. I like you. Let\u2019s hang out, let\u2019s party.\u2019 They\u2019re like, \u2018Hey, Mike. Mike the former president, we\u2019d love to have you come speak at our conference, and we\u2019re willing to pay you a half a million dollars.\u2019 So this [it\u2019s] like weird bribes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s giving this like very simplistic, almost vague answer,\u201d Rogan said after watching Pelosi\u2019s comments. \u201cBecause should you be allowed to participate in the stock market when you\u2019re influencing the direction of the stock or when you know which direction something\u2019s going to go in? Or when you\u2019re going to pass a law that\u2019s going to benefit these businesses, that\u2019s going to force the stock to go up, and you know that, so you invest a sh*t ton of money before it happens? That seems like a problem. That seems like it\u2019s a problem. Now why is that not a problem?
