Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called the U.S. Supreme Court \u201can extremist United States Supreme Court,\u201d and claimed they \u201cgutted the voting rights act\u201d of 1965, which opened the door to stop black people, Hispanics, and other minorities from voting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Dr. King spoke [in 1957], it was truly the case that because of restrictive state laws, that, principally, African Americans were denied the opportunity to vote,\u201d Warren told CBS\u2019 left-wing late-night host Stephen Colbert during a recent appearance on <em>The Late Show<\/em>. \u201cThen in mid 1960\u2019s passed the Voting Rights Act.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAnd voting increased over time \u2014 but then, an extremist United States Supreme Court a few years ago gutted the Voting Rights Act. That all by itself just opened the door&nbsp;to restricting voting,\u201d the senator claimed.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Watch Below:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Warren went on to accuse former President Donald Trump of taking \u201cmillions of people down the dark hole of the big lie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democrats are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/07\/01\/joe-biden-cites-race-based-disparity-after-supreme-court-upholds-arizona-ballot-harvesting-ban\/\">accusing<\/a> the Supreme Court of undercutting the Voting Rights Act after it voted last year to uphold&nbsp;the legality of a ballot harvesting ban in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>The Arizona law invalidates ballots cast in the wrong precinct and criminalizes ballot harvesting by third parties or political campaigns.
