(Photo by CHRISTOF STACHE\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>This month, Bancel said the efficacy of coronavirus booster shots&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/01\/06\/moderna-ceo-says-people-may-need-fourth-covid-shot-as-efficacy-of-boosters-likely-to-decline-over-time.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">declines<\/a>&nbsp;over time, opening up the possibility of individuals receiving a fourth booster shot.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Anthony Fauci, who appeared on the virtual panel alongside Bancel, downplayed the impact multiple boosters have on the immune system. \u201cGiving boosters at different times, there is really no evidence that\u2019s going to hinder\u201d immune response, Fauci said.<\/p>\n<p>Bancel&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/moderna-hopes-to-market-combined-covid-and-flu-booster-in-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;the company intends to ship two to three billion doses of its coronavirus vaccine this year after confirming 807 million shipped in 2021. Bancel also discussed Moderna\u2019s omicron-targeting vaccine, which is under development and will likely be available in spring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vaccine is being finished.
