Indeed, a new report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-more-than-600k-people-leaving-new-york-and-california-for-lower-taxed-states\">showed<\/a> that more than 600,000 people have left New York and California for lower-taxed states with less restrictive COVID-19 policies.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk \u2014 who himself moved from the Golden State to Austin, Texas \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-blasts-californias-bizarre-new-solar-tax-proposal-tells-people-to-complain-to-gavin-newsom\">blasted<\/a> California lawmakers over a \u201cbizarre\u201d new solar tax, even creating a website for people to send complaints to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA).<\/p>\n<p>The California Public Utilities Commission\u2019s proposal would \u201cevolve decarbonization incentive efforts to meet the state\u2019s groundbreaking clean energy goals\u201d by establishing a \u201cgrid participation charge\u201d of $8 per kilowatt for residential solar panel users. Tesla \u2014 which operates Tesla Energy, a firm that sells and installs solar panel systems \u2014 is condemning the move.<\/p>\n<p>Musk \u2014 currently the world\u2019s richest man \u2014 paid $11 billion in taxes last year. Nevertheless, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pramila-jayapal-reacts-to-elon-musk-paying-11-billion-in-taxes-by-asking-rich-to-pay-their-fair-share\">asserted<\/a> on social media that he was still failing to contribute his \u201cfair share.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The comment came after Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/i-will-pay-more-taxes-than-any-american-in-history-this-year-elon-musk-obliterates-elizabeth-warren-with-one-tweet\">denounced<\/a> Musk in December for \u201cfreeloading off everyone else\u201d and benefiting from \u201cthe rigged tax code.\u201d Musk replied to Warren: \u201cAnd if you opened your eyes for 2 seconds, you would realize I will pay more taxes than any American in history this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Two high-ranking California Department of Education officials were recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/california-education-official-lives-in-texas-despite-state-ban-on-travel-to-lone-star-state\">revealed<\/a> to be living outside of California. One resided in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while another resided \u2014 like Musk \u2014 in Texas, an ironic move given California\u2019s ban on state travel to the Lone Star State.
