Maxine Waters (CA) attacked members of her own party over the weekend, suggesting that they were racist because they do not support far-left measures that the party is pushing.<\/p>\n<p>Waters made the remarks in reference to Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), who oppose Democrats\u2019 efforts to eliminate the filibuster so that they can ram through their partisan agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have sent the signal. They have been clear about it. They don\u2019t care about minorities. They don\u2019t care about blacks. They don\u2019t care about people in their own districts who they\u2019re going to deny their voting rights and undermine their voting rights,\u201d Waters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/maxine-waters-attacks-manchin-sinema-over-voting-bill-says-they-dont-care-about-black-people\">said<\/a>. \u201cI must always be optimistic. But this is a very difficult time for Democrats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have two Democrats, Manchin and Sinema, and they are holding up the Democratic agenda. They have decided that they are going to stick with support of the filibuster, and they don\u2019t care whether or not they undermine the rights of minorities and blacks in this country,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Waters suggested that Democrats were powerless to do anything because of Republicans, even though Democrats control the White House and Congress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not what Democrats need to do. We\u2019re doing everything that can be done,\u201d she claimed. \u201cIt\u2019s what Republicans need to do. Why is it we don\u2019t have one Republican, not one that will stand up for the voting rights for people in this country? And so I hear a lot of talk about our president. He\u2019s fighting as hard as he can. I don\u2019t know why people think that he can make Manchin and make Sinema do what is right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democrat Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY) also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/manchin-sinema-must-face-consequences-stalling-voting-rights-democratic-rep-says-1669799\">slammed<\/a> Manchin and Sinema during an interview with a far-left radio host, saying that \u201cthere must be consequences\u201d for the two Senators not falling in line with Democrat President Joe Biden\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s as simple as that. The president calls you and you\u2019re going to derail one of his top initiatives, our vision? There\u2019s got to be consequences for this,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd they\u2019re very precise. They fit each state, and each leader in very precise ways. And so I\u2019m sure once the consequences are laid out for them there may be an opportunity for a meeting of the minds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Manchin and Sinema have both repeatedly stated their opposition to getting rid of the filibuster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no need for me to restate my long-standing support for the 60-vote threshold to pass legislation,\u201d Sinema said. \u201cThere\u2019s no need for me to restate its role protecting our country from wild reversals in federal policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need some good rules changes to make the place work better,\u201d Manchin added. \u201cBut getting rid of the filibuster doesn\u2019t make it work better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
