Ralph Northam (D) on Sunday sounded off on Critical Race Theory, which was a hot-button topic in his state\u2019s most recent gubernatorial election.<\/p>\n<p>MSNBC \u201cThe Sunday Show\u201d host Jonathan Capehart asked Northam what Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) running against the teaching of Critical Race Theory and eventually winning meant about the people of Virginia.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Northam argued that \u201cCritical Race Theory is nothing more than a dog whistle.\u201d He added that the curriculum was \u201cnot being taught\u201d in his state\u2019s schools.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOne, a Critical Race Theory is nothing more than a dog whistle,\u201d Northam asserted. \u201cWe don\u2019t teach Critical Race Theory \u2014 it\u2019s not a part of our curriculum in K-12 schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat it also says, and perhaps more importantly, is that anger and fear are very strong emotions, and I think their campaign was a lot based on that \u2014 was out there provoking fear and anger in people, and they responded to it. And the rest is history,\u201d he added. \u201cBut that\u2019s not a good direction for Virginia to go in. It\u2019s not a good direction for this country to go in. And I think we have to start with the facts.
