Andrew now faces time in federal prison for abusing his position and robbing those he promised to help,\u201d U.S. Attorney Damian Williams <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdny\/pr\/former-white-house-advisor-pleads-guilty-devising-scheme-steal-218000-charter-schools\">explained<\/a> in a statement Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The United States Attorney\u2019s Office Southern District of New York press release said Andrew pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cANDREW has agreed to pay restitution to the Charter School Network from which he stole. ANDREW is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Cronan on April 14, 2022,\u201d the release stated.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The man was arrested in April and accused of previously misappropriating the money from the Democracy Prep charter school to obtain a lower interest rate on a loan for a multimillion dollar Manhattan apartment, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Andrew was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/04\/27\/former-obama-white-house-adviser-seth-andrew-arrested\/\">charged<\/a> with wire fraud, money laundering, and giving false statements to a financial institution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter working for the Department of Education in 2013, Andrew took a job with the Obama White House as a senior adviser in the Office of Educational Technology, and hung around until the end of Obama\u2019s tenure in office,\u201d the <em>Post<\/em> report said.<\/p>\n<p>The Democracy Prep Public Schools website <a href=\"https:\/\/democracyprep.org\">said<\/a> it is a group of open-enrollment, high-performing, public charter schools located in New York City, Camden, New Jersey, Baton Rouge, Las Vegas, and San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe mission of Democracy Prep is to educate responsible citizen-scholars for success in the college of their choice and a life of active citizenship.
