The Company initially promised production would begin in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/exclusive-tesla-delays-initial-production-cybertruck-early-2023-source-2022-01-13\/\">recent report from Reuters<\/a> states that production of Tesla\u2019s Cybertruck pickup truck has been delayed and is unlikely to even begin until the first quarter of 2023.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_12006242\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2019\/11\/Elon-Musk-examines-cracked-Cybertruck-windows.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12006242\" src=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2019\/11\/Elon-Musk-examines-cracked-Cybertruck-windows.jpg\" alt=\"Elon Musk examines cracked Cybertruck windows\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Elon Musk examines cracked Cybertruck windows<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Verge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/1\/13\/22881646\/tesla-cybertruck-production-date-2022-removed-website\">reports<\/a> that the Cybertruck was first announced in 2019 with Tesla promising that the vehicle would be leaving production lines in late 2021. In August of 2019, production was delayed until an unspecified time in 2022. The deadline appears to have been pushed back yet again to 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Edmunds was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edmunds.com\/car-news\/tesla-cybertruck-delayed-2022.html\">first to notice changes<\/a> to the Cybertruck order page on the Tesla website, which originally stated:&nbsp;\u201cYou will be able to complete your configuration as production nears in 2022.\u201d And has since been updated to read: \u201cYou will be able to complete your configuration as production nears.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reuters cites a source \u201cfamiliar with the matter,\u201d that says the delay is the result of \u201cchanging features and functions\u201d in the vehicle. These are reportedly being added in an attempt to make the Cybertruck more attractive in the advancing market of electric pickup trucks.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Tesla is now facing competition from brands such as Ford which recently announced plans to double the production of its F-150 Lightning electric pickup. Ford plans to ship the vehicle in the first half of 2022.
