He was happy-go-lucky. He loved life. He was humble. He found joy in helping other people, whether it be his grandparents, his friends. He had a beautiful soul.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>LISTEN:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201c[Dylan] had been assisting a friend through a substance abuse issue and was essentially put in the middle of a situation that placed him with her and Travis Lang, the man who shot my son,\u201d Sterling said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe should have never been allowed to be back on the streets. Travis Lang was in jail on three pending felonies and I believe he had one felony on his record,\u201d she continued. \u201cSo a total of four felonies, three pending. One was for resisting law enforcement. Another was for the possession of narcotics and the third one for burglary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Local Indianapolis media&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wishtv.com\/news\/crime-watch-8\/2nd-man-accused-of-murder-in-2021-after-leaving-jail-with-bail-projects-help\/\">reported<\/a> the details of Lang\u2019s criminal record:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Lang\u2019s wrap sheet<\/strong> dates back to 2018 and <strong>consists of pending charges related to auto theft, burglary, resisting law enforcement, and multiple drug-related charges<\/strong>. [Emphasis added]\n<p><strong>He was arrested in December [2020] for possession of cocaine, a Level 6 felony<\/strong>. Court documents show in January [2021] his $5,000 cash bond was paid by The Bail Project. [Emphasis added]\n<p>According to investigators, <strong>Lang was a known drug dealer <\/strong>in the area. Following his January bond release, police said <strong>he would go on to continue to sell drugs leading to the murder of Dylan McGinnis <\/strong>on Oct. 1. [Emphasis added]\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Lang\u2019s bail was just $5,000 and fully paid for by the Bail Project. Sterling said that although jailbreak organizations like the Bail Project fund a suspect\u2019s release, they are not held accountable for any future crimes committed by that suspect or any oversight in the suspect\u2019s pending case.<\/p>\n<p>Even more, Sterling has learned that American taxpayer money is being used to help fund jailbreak operations like bailing out accused felons.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>In response to Lang\u2019s alleged murdering McGinnis, Bail Project executive David Gaspar said Lang \u201chad no history of violence\u201d despite the felony charges. Gaspar offered no condolences at the time to McGinnis\u2019s family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bail Project \u2013 Indianapolis successfully supported him in returning to all of his court dates for his pending cases,\u201d Gaspar said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s important to remember that Mr. Lang is only charged with the current allegations, and it will be up to a judge and jury to determine if those charges have any merit.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Meanwhile, Sterling said she and her family \u201cwere just in complete shock.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t hear that [Travis Lang] had been in jail on three pending felonies until three weeks after the accident had happened \u2026 we were just in complete shock of how these organizations are allowed to just go in and bail out whoever they want,\u201d Sterling said.&nbsp; \u201cThey indicate that their mission is to fight incarceration by bailing out low-income individuals but many statements I\u2019ve seen on television made by the organization \u2026 is that they don\u2019t actually look at the offender\u2019s criminal history before they bail them out of jail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sterling said that while she has spoken to Indiana legislators and Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) about her son\u2019s murder, she has yet to hear from Biden and Harris.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_19505658\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Screen-Shot-2022-01-15-at-2.39.47-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19505658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Screen-Shot-2022-01-15-at-2.39.47-PM.png\" alt=\"Dylan McGinnis\" width=\"1268\" height=\"1146\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Dylan McGinnis (Photo via Facebook)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>While running for president, Biden championed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/truth-o-meter\/promises\/biden-promise-tracker\/promise\/1525\/eliminate-cash-bail\/\">plan to end cash bail<\/a> across the United States while Harris propped up jailbreak organizations that had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/law-and-order\/2020\/09\/23\/report-kamala-harris-promoted-bail-fund-freed-six-domestic-abusers\/\">helping free<\/a> convicted domestic abusers.<\/p>\n<p>Sterling said the president and vice president ought to walk in her shoes for a day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil a family, Kamala\u2019s family, or any celebrity\u2019s family is directly impacted by an offender who has been bailed out, and I can assure that with the numbers of offenders who are being bailed out \u2026 it will eventually hit home for somebody at the advisory board level,\u201d Sterling said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do know that Joe Biden has unfortunately lost a child and it\u2019s one of the hardest things that an individual, especially a parent and a mother, could ever go through,\u201d she continued. \u201cTake off your political shoes and put yourself into \u2026 think on a compassionate level for your child. Would you want the offender that is being released by any charitable bail organization, would you want them to invite them into your house for dinner to expose them to your children? Would you want your children to cross paths with them?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Indiana,&nbsp;State Sen. Aaron Freeman (R-Indianapolis) has taken notice of McGinnis\u2019s case and is currently pushing for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indystar.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2021\/12\/17\/indiana-senate-republican-bills-restrict-bail-target-crime\/8926322002\/\">legislation<\/a> that would ban groups like the Bail Project from bailing out suspects accused of felonies and would restrict the amount they can pay to $2,000 or less.<\/p>\n<p>Sterling said she is testifying in support of the legislation next week. Americans around the nation, Sterling said, can also help by calling up their state legislators and demanding similar legislation to that of Freeman\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you look at the increasing crime in Indiana, it increased 59 percent and they were at their all-time high homicides in 2021 and you\u2019re starting to see that across the United States \u2026 my fear is that you\u2019re going to see more and more of these offenders get released and pushed back into the streets before regulations can be established,\u201d Sterling said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur entire family \u2026 we\u2019re broken, we\u2019re shattered,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>John Binder is a reporter for Breitbart News.
