Roger Marshall (R-KS) is planning to introduce the \u201cFAUCI Act\u201dafter a heated exchange with Dr. Anthony Fauci at a Senate hearing this week over the chief medical adviser\u2019s financial disclosures.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A spokesperson for the senator&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/589699-gop-senator-plans-to-introduce-fauci-act-after-clash-at-hearing?rl=1\">told<\/a> the <em>Hill<\/em> on Thursday that Marshall is creating the Financial Accountability for Uniquely Compensate Individuals (FAUCI) Act because \u201cFauci\u2019s records were not readily accessible to the public,\u201d the report states.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The legislation would require the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) website to supply financial records of \u201cadministration officials like Fauci\u201d and a list of government officials whose financial records are not publicly available.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>The measure comes after Marshall pressed Fauci on his disclosures at the Tuesday hearing, to which the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases grew visibly irritated, claimed the records are publicly available, and insisted Marshall was \u201cmisinformed.\u201d At the end of the exchange, a hot mic caught Fauci saying, \u201cWhat a moron. Jesus Christ.\u201d Fauci, who is also chief medical adviser to the president, is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/adamandrzejewski\/2021\/01\/25\/dr-anthony-fauci-the-highest-paid-employee-in-the-entire-us-federal-government\/?sh=6e165cb386f0\"><span>reportedly<\/span><\/a><span> the highest-paid employee in the entire U.S. federal government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The next day, Marshall sent Fauci an official letter demanding copies of Fauci\u2019s financial disclosures by January 14 at 5:00 p.m. In the letter,&nbsp;<\/span><span>Marshall pointed to a&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/adamandrzejewski\/2022\/01\/12\/no-faucis-records-arent-available-online-why-wont-nih-immediately-release-them\/?source=bloomberg&amp;sh=4f7aa18646bd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">report<\/a>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<em>Forbes<\/em>&nbsp;contributor Adam Andrzejewski. In a piece titled \u201cNo, Fauci\u2019s Records Aren\u2019t Available Online. Why Won\u2019t NIH Immediately Release Them?\u201d&nbsp;Andrzejewski wrote that the NIH has not provided several documents requested through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), including&nbsp;conflict of interest disclosures, financial disclosures, and royalty payments.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Andrzejewski notably leads OpenTheBooks.com, which is suing the NIH for production of those records. According to his report, the NIH&nbsp; holds approximately 1,200 pages relating to Fauci\u2019s financial information and conflict of interest disclosures, and has agreed to release 300 pages per month starting Feb. 1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Marshall also said several of his own requests for information from Fauci\u2019s office \u201chave required months for a response or are still outstanding.\u201d<br \/><em>Katherine Hamilton is a political reporter for Breitbart News.
