He worked on Trump\u2019s White House campaign for five months in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefings-statements\/statement-press-secretary-regarding-executive-grants-clemency-122320\/\">announced<\/a> that Manafort\u2019s sentence stemmed from convictions prosecuted in Mueller\u2019s investigation, which was \u201cpremised on the Russian collusion hoax.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s pardoning of Manafort spared the long-time Republican operative from serving the bulk of his prison term of seven-and-a-half years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3349185\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/paul-manafort-released-600x518-1.jpg\" alt=\"Paul Manafort released\" width=\"600\" height=\"518\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Paul Manafort arrives at a court in New York in a June 27, 2019 file photo.
