According to the outlet, Kupfer was a design consultant for Croft House, a high end furniture store on La Brea Avenue in Hancock Park.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Kupfer was working alone at the store when she was killed around 1:35 p.m.,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smobserved.com\/story\/2022\/01\/14\/news\/police-seek-suspect-who-murdered-young-woman-from-pacific-palisades-as-she-worked-on-la-brea-avenue\/6375.html\">according to the <em>Santa Monica Observer<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA customer found the body of Brianna Kupfer on the floor of the Croft House when he walked into the store,\u201d the report continued.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is believed to be the suspect, leaving Croft House after the murder. Both outlets made sure to note that the suspect was wearing \u201ca white N95 mask.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey say it is unclear whether the perpetrator and victim knew each other prior to today\u2019s violence,\u201d the <em>Observer<\/em> report states.<\/p>\n<p>Kupfer\u2019s murder is the latest in a \u201cstring of violence and murders in \u2018safe\u2019 LA neighborhoods where mayhem has seldom been seen before,\u201d according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the <em>L.A. Times<\/em>&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2021-12-04\/brutal-brazen-incidents-push-crime-into-focus-in-l-a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;in December 2021 that homicides were up 46.7 percent compared to 2019, citing police data.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of the end of November, there had been 359 homicides in L.A. in 2021, compared with 355 in all of 2020.
