Susan Wild has continuously claimed there was \u201ca lot of economic progress\u201d in 2021, and the&nbsp;economic crisis is being \u201cgreatly exaggerated\u201d despite&nbsp;rising prices,&nbsp;rising inflation, and hiring slowing down across the county.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/opinion\/mc-opi-year-review-year-coming-wild-20220112-4pscrrfyn5evzfrvt2p2qgngn4-story.html\">recent<\/a> op-ed with&nbsp;<em>The Morning Call,<\/em>&nbsp;Wild (D-CA) said that there was \u201ca lot of economic progress in the last year,\u201d saying America \u201cgot shots in arms, money in pockets, and job creation back on track.\u201d She also touted the passage of the so-called&nbsp;bipartisan infrastructure bill.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, in her op-ed, Wild acknowledged that one of the ways Congress needs to \u201cfocus on growing our economy\u201d is to fix the supply chain crisis \u201cto prevent the shortages and slowdowns that plagued storefronts for the past 18 months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Wild\u2019s op-ed comes a month after she claimed&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/06\/vulnerable-democrat-rep-susan-wild-believes-economic-crisis-greatly-exaggerated-great-shape-going-into-2022\/\">during an appearance<\/a> on MSNBC that&nbsp;it is important to keep the economic issues at the top of the list, but she \u201cthink[s] that the rumors\u201d of there being an \u201ceconomic demise are greatly exaggerated,\u201d noting that America is \u201cin really good shape going into 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">She also claimed that \u201cunemployment has plummeted,\u201d and the \u201c[American] employers that we were so worried about them having a workforce issue just a couple of months ago are now actually not filling as many jobs, or not reporting as many jobs open.\u201d She added that the jobs are filling up, and Americans are spending more.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"\">The unemployment rate has declined much faster than many economists expected, as Wilde claimed, falling from 6.7 percent at the start of the year to 3.9 percent in December. Total employment grew by six million jobs last year to nearly 149 million. And the total number of job openings has fallen from the record 11 million to a still extremely elevated 10.5 million. But the economy is still short millions of jobs when compared to before the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThe economy hasn\u2019t added one single job from the 2019 watermark. Not one. All the jobs that we have seen gained are recovered jobs that were lost. We are not yet producing new jobs,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/01\/13\/adp-economist-says-u-s-economy-hasnt-added-one-job-compared-with-2019\/\">said<\/a> Neela Richardson, chief economist at payroll processor ADP, on CNBC Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Wild\u2019s MSNBC appearance came after she signed onto a letter with&nbsp;other vulnerable Democrats pushing for the Democrat-led &nbsp;House leadership to quickly pass legislation to address the&nbsp;ongoing supply chain problem that caused a spike in inflation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><em><strong>Watch:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>While Wild has claimed&nbsp;economic progress, inflation has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/07\/14\/producer-prices-surge-7-3-higher-than-expected\/\">risen<\/a> more than expected in recent months, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/white-house-braces-for-latest-us-inflation-surge\/\">reports<\/a> have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/01\/12\/consumer-prices-rise\/\">shown<\/a> that inflation rose by seven percent last year and hitting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/01\/12\/cpi-december-2021-.html?__source=androidappshare\">highest level<\/a>&nbsp;since June 1982.<\/p>\n<p>In the final week of 2021, the&nbsp;initial claims for unemployment insurance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/01\/06\/jobless-claims-omicron\/\">slightly<\/a> went up. The jobless claims for&nbsp;unemployment rose by 7,000 to&nbsp;207,000 for the week ended January 1, after economists originally predicted a slight decline to&nbsp;195,000.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, an&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/20\/analysis-republican-led-states-lead-democrat-led-states-in-economic-recovery-in-november\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">analysis<\/a> of the&nbsp;Labor Department\u2019s November&nbsp;unemployment data&nbsp;showed that Wild\u2019s state is in the bottom half of states, ranked 38 in jobs recovered from the pandemic. Pennsylvania has only recovered 68.2 percent of the jobs lost since the pandemic\u2019s beginning. Pennsylvania also had a 5.7 percent unemployment rate, according to the data, which puts the state in the top ten states with the highest unemployment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSusan Wild clearly has her head buried in the sand. Families and small businesses are scraping by, and Democrats, who have control of every level of government, have failed to address it,\u201d said Congressional Leadership Fund Press Secretary Cally Perkins. \u201cWith records like this, it\u2019s no surprise Democrats are going to lose their Majority.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>Jacob Bliss is a reporter for Breitbart News.
