Scleroderma affects women more often than men and is the disease Saget\u2019s sister, Gay, died from at the age of only 47 in 1994.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Saget, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/01\/09\/bob-saget-comedian-and-full-house-star-dies-at-65\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passed away<\/a> unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, had become an advocate for the search for cures to the disorders that cause the skin issues. Two years ago, he involved himself in the medical care of 9-year-old Sophie Anne.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>According to TMZ, \u201cBob <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2022\/01\/13\/bob-saget-leading-fight-scleroderma-fans-donate-80k\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sent<\/a> the little girl personalized videos, always with comfort and hope \u2026 \u2018We are going to find a cure, sending lots of love.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tv\/CXRubeNjsHc\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bob had done so much for Sophie Anne that she even wrote an essay for school entitled, \u201cBob Saget: My Everyday Hero.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saget also invited Sophie Anne and her family to attend one of shows in North Carolina, meeting with the family backstage.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Saget\u2019s grieving fans have donated more than $80,000 to the Scleroderma Research Foundation in Bob\u2019s name to support the cause he championed during his life.<\/p>\n<p>Saget had posted an Instagram message about Sophie and her medical troubles that led fans to donate to the foundation to help her and those like her who suffer from Scleroderma.<\/p>\n<p><i>Follow Warner Todd Huston on Facebook at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Warner.Todd.Huston\">facebook.com\/Warner.Todd.Huston<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has been revealed that Bob Saget, who recently passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, was privately helping a 9-year-old girl who suffers from the debilitating skin disease, Scleroderma.
