He took a defiant tone in his response to the ruling, noting that while his administration can\u2019t \u201crequire the measure,\u201d he can still use his \u201cvoice as President\u201d for advocacy. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/15\/vaccine-mandates-osha-joe-biden-businesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Companies, Business Groups Have Plans To Push Back On Biden\u2019s Vaccine Mandate)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Court has ruled that my administration cannot use the authority granted to it by Congress to require this measure, but that does not stop me from using my voice as President to advocate for employers to do the right thing to protect Americans\u2019 health and economy,\u201d Biden said. \u201cI call on business leaders to immediately join those who have already stepped up \u2013 including one third of Fortune 100 companies \u2013 and institute vaccination requirements to protect their workers, customers, and communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cThe Court has ruled that my administration cannot use the authority granted to it by Congress to require this measure, but that does not stop me from using my voice as President to advocate for employers to do the right thing\u2026,\u201d Biden says of the Supreme Court ruling. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/F7Wi9sUVkd\">pic.twitter.com\/F7Wi9sUVkd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Shelby Talcott (@ShelbyTalcott) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShelbyTalcott\/status\/1481734100084006915?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 13, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden added that he was \u201cdisappointed\u201d by the Supreme Court\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/13\/supreme-court-vaccine-mandate-religious-exemption\/\">block<\/a>, calling the requirements \u201ccommon-sense\u201d and \u201clife-saving requirements \u2026 grounded squarely in both science and the law.\u201d He said the option to require vaccinations or have workers test weekly and mask up was \u201ca very modest burden\u201d in the face of safety and health.<\/p>\n<p>While the president vowed to continue pressuring businesses to comply with the vaccine or testing rule, he also commended the Supreme Court\u2019s 5-4 decision to reinstate his vaccine mandate for <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/13\/joe-biden-deploy-medical-teams-six-states-omicron-surge\/\">healthcare<\/a> workers. This policy, also announced in 2021, requires any health care worker operating out of a facility that receives Medicaid and Medicare funding to be vaccinated, minus those who <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/13\/supreme-court-vaccine-mandate-religious-exemption\/\">qualify<\/a> for religious and medical exemptions.<\/p>\n<p>Biden said the Supreme Court\u2019s decision on this mandate \u201cwill save lives,\u201d and he promised enforcement of the rule.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will cover 10.4 million health care workers at 76,000 medical facilities.
