Following the Department of Justice\u2019s release of a memorandum on October 4 that mirrored the language of the NSBA\u2019s letter, the NEA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nea.org\/about-nea\/leaders\/president\/from-our-president\/neas-letter-social-media-companies\">sent its letter<\/a> on Oct. 8.<\/p>\n<p>Prior described the NEA letter as \u201cironic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s ironic that the NEA would reference \u2018radicalized parents\u2019 who falsely believe that critical race theory is anything but a graduate level course. It was the NEA that introduced measures this summer to support the implantation of critical race theory in K-12,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/parentsknowbest.com\/about-us\/\">Laura Zorc<\/a>, executive director of Building Education for Students Together (BEST), argued that the NEA should apologize.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NEA owes concerned parents an apology for accusing them of being violent, \u2018radicalized,\u2019 and controlled by \u2018conspiracy theories,\u2019\u201d Zorc told Fox News Digital. \u201cThrough BEST [an organization that helps train people to run for school boards and combat issues like COVID-19 closures and CRT]&nbsp; I helped train more than 1,000 parent activists in 2021, and I can tell you that this is not what I saw.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCreating a scary strawman while failing to address the actual worries of parents is a typical tactic for these special interest groups,\u201d Zorc added. \u201cSocial media platforms are key for parents who are trying to organize resistance to the NEA\u2019s agenda \u2014 the NEA\u2019s call for suppressing so-called misinformation sounds like another name for censorship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ian Haworth is an Editor and Writer for The Daily Wire.
