United Airlines also announced this week that four percent of its workforce (3,000 out of nearly 70,000) have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/12\/report-3000-united-airlines-employees-call-out-sick-with-coronavirus\/\">called out sick<\/a> for coronavirus.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>As of Thursday, Delta has only canceled one percent of its flights in the past week, showing that cancellations have \u201ceased significantly\u201d since the holidays. Bastian told CNBC\u2019s <em>Squawk Box<\/em> that sick employees have had \u201cno significant health issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, later last year, the airline changed its sick leave policy from ten days of paid leave to five days \u201coutside of sick banks\u201d for employees who test positive for coronavirus. They receive two more days if they still test positive for the virus on the fifth day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat came after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC] updated its guidelines for Covid quarantining, halving its recommendation to five days,\u201d CNBC reported, noting that Delta and other airlines \u201curged the CDC to make the change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sara Nelson, the president of the Association of Flight Attendants, the largest U.S. flight attendant union, slammed Delta\u2019s policy in a tweet, to which the airline <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/01\/11\/delta-air-lines-battles-with-nations-largest-flight-attendant-union-over-shortened-covid-sick-leave.html\">issued<\/a> a cease-and-desist letter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDelta is telling workers across work groups that they should come to work w\/ symptoms even if someone in the household tested positive,\u201d Nelson wrote.
