That curriculum argues traditional styles of teaching math are non-inclusive.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/math-suffers-white-supremacy-according-bill-gates-funded-course-1571511\">Newsweek<\/a> reported in February 2021 that a screenshot of the Equitable Math curriculum showed the EquitableMath.org website with a quote reading, \u201cWhite supremacy culture shows up in math classrooms when\u2026 The focus is on getting the \u2018right\u2019 answer.\u201d This statement follows: \u201cThe concept of mathematics being purely objective is unequivocally false, and teaching it is even much less so. Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers perpetuates objectivity as well as fear of open conflict.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In November 2021, Microsoft\u2019s annual Ignite&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/PraEcNDGSqY\">conference<\/a>&nbsp;was harshly criticized after the corporate introduction included people\u2019s race, hairstyles, genders, and a long statement referencing the Native American tribes who had lived on the land where the Microsoft Corporation campus was located.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Program Manager and On-Air Host Allison Weins stated, \u201cI\u2019m an Asian and White female with dark brown hair wearing a red sleeveless top.\u201d Program Manager of the \u201cAI Platform Group\u201d Seth Juarez echoed, \u201cI\u2019m a tall Hispanic male wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants.\u201d Marketing manager Nic Fillingham added, \u201cI\u2019m a Caucasian man with glasses and a beard.
