Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) for exposing President Joe Biden\u2019s judicial nominee\u2019s criminal history.<\/p>\n<p>During his Senate confirmation hearing, Blackburn highlighted recent&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/12\/joe-bidens-sixth-circuit-nominee-andre-mathis-has-criminal-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a>&nbsp;that revealed Andre B. Mathis, Biden\u2019s nominee to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, has a criminal record that includes a \u201claundry list\u201d of citations and multiple failures to appear in court.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIn Tennessee we expect our judges to respect the law, not disregard it,\u201d Blackburn said. \u201cIf Mr. Mathis thought he was above the law before, imagine how he\u2019ll conduct himself if he\u2019s confirmed as a federal judge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democrats attempted to paint Blackburn\u2019s criticism of Mathis as a racist attack on a black man.<\/p>\n<p>Former NAACP President Cornell William Brooks&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cnnnewsroom\/status\/1481457922475442183?s=10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a>&nbsp;CNN, \u201cIt was extraordinarily painful to watch as an American and as an African American.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;It was extraordinarily painful to watch as an American and as an African American&#8221; \u2013 Former NAACP President Cornell William Brooks blasts GOP Sen. Marsha Blackburn goes after one of Biden&#8217;s Black judicial nominees for having &#8220;a rap sheet&#8221; of citations, which was actually just three speeding tickets from 10+ years ago.<\/p>\n<p>One was for going 5 miles over the speed limit. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/FiFLrZRoJX\">https:\/\/t.co\/FiFLrZRoJX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jennifer Bendery (@jbendery) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jbendery\/status\/1481366899174916098?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 12, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Human rights lawyer Qasim Rashid&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/QasimRashid\/status\/1481394691191058432\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">parroted<\/a>&nbsp;Bender\u2019s language, noting that Blackburn went after \u201cone of Biden\u2019s Black judicial nominees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals judge Camille McMullen quickly came to the senator\u2019s defense. Sen. Blackburn nominated McMullen, a black woman, and lifelong Democrat, for the Sixth Circuit judicial appointment.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>McMullen broke a Twitter hiatus to show her support and gratitude for Blackburn amid the alleged controversy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t really tweet. But, based on this Senators efforts vs my own congressman, I feel the need to share. I\u2019m a lifelong Democrat my friend. We do not need to destroy the judicial branch,\u201d McMullen said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I don\u2019t really tweet.
