Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) announced that she was cutting ties with husband Tim Mynett&#8217;s political consulting firm, Mynett turned his attention to a new mission: advising wine and beverage companies.<\/p>\n<p>Mynett and his business partner, Will Hailer, quietly registered a second venture in October 2019. But it wasn&#8217;t until Omar said she would terminate her contract with their political consulting firm that they really turned their attention to the new business. The newer group carries a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/estreet.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website address<\/a>&nbsp;identical to its name, which is separate from that of Mynett&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/estreetgroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">political consulting site<\/a>. A cache of&nbsp;eStreet.co&#8217;s website&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200812002309\/https:\/estreet.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shows<\/a>&nbsp;it was under construction in August of last year. It appears to have gone live <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200925155809\/https:\/\/estreet.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some time<\/a> around September\u2014two months before Omar announced she would halt the payments to E Street Group.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1443949 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/EStreetGroup2018registration.png\" alt width=\"2454\" height=\"1410\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1443952 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/eStreetcoTradeNameResigration.png\" alt width=\"2772\" height=\"1302\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mynett and Hailer are listed as <a href=\"https:\/\/estreet.co\/who-we-are\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">partners<\/a> on eStreet.co&#8217;s site. Neither man&#8217;s bio refers to E Street&#8217;s relationship with Omar&#8217;s campaign, but both point to their past work with groups including Alliance for Justice, the Democratic National Committee, and Angelina Jolie&#8217;s Global Action for Children.<\/p>\n<p>According to the website, eStreet will work to &#8220;elevate the voices of underrepresented entrepreneurs in the winemaking and beverage industries.&#8221; The firm <a href=\"https:\/\/estreet.co\/projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">offers<\/a> advertising, public relations, and web services for beverage companies. Mynett could not be reached for comment. Hailer did not provide a comment.<\/p>\n<p>Mynett registered E Street Group LLC in July 2018, D.C. corporate filings show. Omar began funneling cash to the firm in August of that year. Throughout the 2018 election cycle, Mynett&#8217;s firm received just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/disbursements\/?data_type=processed&amp;recipient_name=e+street+group&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2018&amp;min_date=01%2F01%2F2017&amp;max_date=12%2F31%2F2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">$171,000<\/a>&nbsp;from federal committees, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/disbursements\/?data_type=processed&amp;committee_id=C00680934&amp;recipient_name=e+street+group&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2018&amp;min_date=01%2F01%2F2017&amp;max_date=12%2F31%2F2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$62,000<\/a> from Omar&#8217;s campaign, which went to fundraising services.<\/p>\n<p>E Street Group&#8217;s bottom line dramatically increased during the 2020 elections, when it pulled in $3.7 million from federal committees. <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/omar-kept-husbands-consulting-firm-afloat\/\">Eighty-five percent<\/a> of those payments came from the campaigns of Omar and her mentor, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D., Wash.).<\/p>\n<p>Omar and Mynett were first identified as a potential couple when her campaign&#8217;s payments to E Street Group skyrocketed during the 2020 cycle. Divorce filings submitted by Mynett&#8217;s then-wife in August 2019 alleged that he and Omar were having an affair.<\/p>\n<p>Both parties denied the allegation. Mynett claimed that his ex-wife was attempting to ruin his career, and Omar&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/minnesota.cbslocal.com\/2019\/08\/27\/focus-on-the-present-rep-ilhan-omar-talks-with-esme-murphy-about-shaking-things-up-in-washington\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">added<\/a> that she was not separated from then-husband Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi. &#8220;I have no interest in allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue and so I have no desire to discuss it,&#8221; Omar&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/08\/28\/ilhan-omar-issues-firm-denial-over-bombshell-affair-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After long denying the affair, the pair announced their marriage on Instagram in March 2020. &#8220;Got Married! From partners in politics to life partners, so blessed. Alhamdulillah,&#8221; Omar&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B9nW-g3jhsA\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in the post. She funneled&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/after-funneling-half-a-million-dollars-to-her-political-consultant-ilhan-omar-marries-him\/\">more than $500,000<\/a> in campaign cash to the firm before tying the knot.<\/p>\n<p>Omar&#8217;s payments to her husband&#8217;s firm have caused Republican lawmakers to call for an end to such financial relationships. Last Friday, Reps. Mike Gallagher (R., Wis.) and Tom Tiffany (R., Wis.) <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/newly-introduced-omar-act-would-block-lawmakers-from-paying-spouses\/\">introduced<\/a> the Oversight for Members and Relatives, or OMAR, Act, which would prohibit federal politicians from paying firms owned by their spouses.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Loopholes that allow members of Congress to funnel campaign funds to their spouses are despicable and erode trust in our government,&#8221; Gallagher said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-8 hide-print\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1526555381173-4\" class=\"mobile-250 desktop-90\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After Rep.
