Eighteen percent said they remain unsure, and 15 percent \u201cdon\u2019t care.\u201d Just 20 percent, overall, said Pelosi should <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.cdn.yougov.com\/jv0vlnls0q\/econToplines.pdf\">remain<\/a>&nbsp;the leader of the Democrats in the House.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Those marks are unsurprising, given that just 36 percent approve of Pelosi\u2019s job as Speaker. Of those, just 18 percent \u201cstrongly\u201d approve, compared to 49 percent who disapprove. Among those, 40 percent disapprove \u201cstrongly.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When asked what they preferred in terms of the outcome of this year\u2019s congressional elections for the U.S. House of Representatives, Americans remain virtually split, as 36 percent said they prefer a House \u201ccontrolled by Democrats\u201d and 35 percent said they prefer a House \u201ccontrolled by Republicans.\u201d That is well within the survey\u2019s +\/- 2.8 percent margin of error.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The survey was taken January 8-1, 2022, among 1,500 U.S. adult citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the sour reviews from the American electorate, Pelosi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/11\/nancy-pelosi-house-democrats-good-shape-heading-midterms\/\">believes<\/a> House Democrats are in \u201cgood shape\u201d heading into the midterm elections and believes Democrats will retain a majority in the lower chamber. This confidence comes in spite of the fact that 26 Democrats have already announced plans to leave the House after their current term.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt means that they are getting on with their lives. And it\u2019s a very personal decision, but we\u2019re OK.
