Last year, Trinity Bible Chapel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/trinity-bible-chapel-which-broke-covid-rules-fined-contempt-court-locked-down-1614870\">incurred<\/a> over $100,000 in fines for refusing to shut its doors in defiance of the Reopening Ontario Act, as well as the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore Christ, I was a very angry person, and filled with fear, doubt, and self-pity. I was constantly seeking avenues of filling the hole in me that only Jesus could fill,\u201d Scott began, explaining that she started drinking and using drugs at the age of 14. \u201cIt began with marijuana and ended with smoking crack cocaine, and intravenous drug use. I was a slave to darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cNone of these things would have happened if Trinity closed it\u2019s doors and was solely online\u2026I\u2019d be dead right now if God had not used this church in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are people like Jennifer in your community. Refuse to turn them away.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/OpenYourChurch?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#OpenYourChurch<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OEzFVIW5bM\">pic.twitter.com\/OEzFVIW5bM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Trinity Bible Chapel (@TBCWR) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TBCWR\/status\/1480947649448751106?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe gospel is the good news that we have salvation through Jesus Christ,\u201d she said. \u201cGod came down in the form of a sinless man, Jesus, and poured out His wrath onto Him, that He might spare us eternity in hell, if only we believe that He is the Son of God \u2014 the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and the Truth, the Way, and the Life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scott testified that \u201cJesus never stopped His pursuit of me\u201d despite various backslidings into drug use. However, it was an in-person prayer meeting at Trinity Bible Chapel that began the end of substance abuse in her life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost recently, I was smoking and shooting seven grams of cocaine a day, and my son asked me to come to a prayer meeting at Trinity,\u201d Scott continued. \u201cIn my small group, I asked for prayer to help me stop. I left a comment on one of Pastor Jacob\u2019s sermons on YouTube. Pastor Jacob took the time to find out who I was, and tracked me down and called me to pray for me, and to encourage me to keep coming to church.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe next day, I got a phone call that there was an upcoming bed available at a sober living house in Cambridge. I kept coming to Trinity in the meantime,\u201d she said. \u201cI have been clean and sober now for over seven months, moved into my own apartment, and the body of Christ here at Trinity has helped me with furniture and other blessings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNone of these things would have happened if Trinity closed its doors and was solely online. I know for a fact that I\u2019d be dead right now if God had not used this church in my life,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n<p>As Scott\u2019s video gained virality on Twitter \u2014 shared alongside the hashtag \u201c#OpenYourChurch\u201d by Trinity Bible Chapel \u2014 pastors and commentators began reacting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJaw on floor,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/gbtseminary.org\/\">Grace Bible Theological Seminary<\/a> provost Owen Strachan <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ostrachan\/status\/1480972283648909315\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn these discouraging times in Canada, this wonderful testimony about God\u2019s grace placed a massive smile on my face,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/slowtowrite.com\/\">Slow To Write<\/a> blogger Samuel Sey <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SlowToWrite\/status\/1481270586726703106\">added<\/a>. \u201cPraise the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPraise God!\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tomascol\">said<\/a> Grace Baptist Church pastor Tom Ascol, who also leads <a href=\"https:\/\/founders.org\/\">Founders Ministries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian pastors are now warning that a new \u201cconversion therapy\u201d bill recently passed by parliament will likely ban them from teaching that homosexuality and transgenderism are sinful.
